Went back to 0904 and now it wont even go into the GUI BIOS screen.  Gonna have to RMA and Im selling it.  Going with gigabyte or msi.  Screw this.

Sounds like you've got your own issues not pertaining to the BIOS in the OP. What board? Tried using Flashback?

No ASUS has problems with build quality.  13900k, 64 gigs gskill approved on QVL, MSI 4070, MSI PS 1000 watt, samsung pro 2TB.1st

1st board random bios lockup issues on restart.  Hard BIOS reset usually fixed it till the next reboot---exchanged.  New board, 2 bad memory slots that would not all it to even post in A1 or A2.  B1 and B2 were fine but defeats the purpose of a dual channel board---exchanged.  New board bios lockup issues from the start never was able to get into windows ever, tried all the latest bios and even went back to 0904, now can't get into GUI bios and get black screen now... sick of the games and trips to micro center.  Time to RMA and sell or just run it over in the street and move on....  I have an MSI Z90--A Pro on the way.  I'm done.

That's a lot of rotten luck. At some point, one needs to ask themselves the right questions, or at least answer the ones that are put to them lol. Best of luck!

Updated my Maximus Z790 Hero to 1402 and could not boot up with same OC settings from 1303. Even tried default settings and system was unstable and crashed several times. Had to go back to 1303 and i stay on it until there is a fix or a new BIOS

Alright I am doing the flashback to 1303.  I have the 13900k so I don't have on board video.  I think my 4070 needs a bios update but....I don't have an extra pc to do that update.  I got back in the bios and the pc booted into windows once....I am trying to get back in.  I saw on youtube someone had something similar with another nvidia card that would not work in his pc after a asus bios update, but worked fine in another PC not Asus MB and it was the bios on the video card.  I have a support ticket in to Gigabyte and located a new bios and a flash util.   Who knows, I will update you guys

1402 caused windows to crash, and then windows tried to recover from that, and it crashed again totally wiping out my boot partition.  I had to totally install windows 11 from scratch.

I flashed it back to 1303 and it is normal now, with new windows install

crashes were with ntfs.sys

I'll try it again with 1501 -- the damage is done

I don't know about you guys... but common practice is a true backup like Acronis on USB.  When things crash.  I always has a backup copy that i can recover quickly.   I been burn before.  Its painful to rebuild windows and restore all software and encryption key.  Dont run Acronis install on windows.  I notice my Hard drive was slow when it is install.  I always use Acronis on USB.

yup, I have a backup, but needed to install windows and acronis ... then restore from backup ... im with you
