z690g boot fault because monitor goes to sleep before machine boots

have a z690g with a 4070ti graphics card.   The card is connected via display port to monitor.    The problem is the monitor goes into power save sleep mode after a couple seconds of no signal..... so what happens is by the time the machine does its self tests the monitor is asleep so I get the 3 beeps error code with motherboard thinking no monitor is connected.     To get around it I have to manually push settings button on monitor to keep it awake for a minute until the 690 can finish post.

Is there a way to turn this monitor check self test off?  Or  a way to boot this motherboard headless?   So annoying.

I'm not aware of any BIOS settings to do that (never noticed any at least), but check your monitor. Mine has settings for power off time, so you might also have similar settings that will help to find a workable solution?
