Hi,
after installing two additional ram sticks for a total of 64GB my system throws the error code 55. I tried removing the newly added sticks, using only one in diff slots (diff sticks), reflashed bios, cleared cmos, replaced cpu with no luck.
ram is gskill ddr5 6400 mhz cl32
did my board die?

Hi sjay,
Combining memory kits is not recommended or supported. The vendor bins the memory kit to operate at XMP in the exact density it is sold in. I would recommend either returning one of the kits or purchasing a single validated kit in the speed and density you wish to run.
If you combine them, you will need to consider the following things, and there will be only so much guidance others can give you.
1). Evaluate if the combined kits able to run at or even close to the rated frequency anymore. This depends on the amount of guardband the memory vendor has put in, the motherboard, platform and CPU.
2). Evaluate if the kit is able to run at or close to the primary timings the memory vendor has put in. This also depends on the amount of guardband the memory vendor has put in.
3). Evaluate the voltage the memory needs for the above two points.
4). Evaluate the motherboard sub-timings to see if the kits are able to run at or close to the auto ruling assigned by the board vendor.
5). As with any memory kit, evaluate what voltages are needed on the CPU side. (MCVDD / CPU SA).

Hey,
thnaks for the reply. I will most likely return the new kit and get 2x32 instead. But what bothers me now is that before I had A_2 and B_2 and it was fine. Now it only works in B_1 and B_2 which also means I loose dual channel. As soon as either one A_1 or A_2 is populated I get 55.
what is even more weird is that with no ram sticks in the system I get a code 53 whereas it should be 55?

Hi,
1. Clear the CMOS using instructions within the user manual.
2. If slots A2 and B2 are still no longer detected it could be a pin pad contact issue.Remove the CPU Cooler and CPU, inspect pin pad for any debris or damaged pins.
3. Reattach CPU and cooler whilst ensuring to not overtorque and for even mounting pressure.
Retest

Hi,
After testing for two days I came to a concusion that A1 and A2 slots got broken for whatever reason. I took the mobo, cpu and ram to the shop for testing and if they come to the same conclusion the board/cpu will be sent for RMA.
Thanks for all the tips and hopefully this is resolved before the christmas holidays 🙏.
