Z690 GLACIAL CLEANING

So, i know this board is not user servicable, but i bought one second hand the price of a normal maximus extreme, asus is no help and they told me to send it to ekwb, the problem is apparently EKWB doesnt offer cleaning services anymore?? I have no idea what to do, anyone who is thinking of buying this board DO NOT DO IT IN 10000000 YEARS. Now i have to flush it with an aquarium pump for days and pray all the white powder and oxidation leaves before i can hook it up to a loop..... 2000€ flagship board, STILL UNDER WARRANTY, and i have 0 options on restoring it, unless someone managed to remove the oled screen. Any help is appreciated, F*** EK and their designers.

I have no experience with that board, but it sounds like the original owner didn't use a good cooling fluid. I think you'll just have to try various cleaning/flushing fluids, unless the cooling parts can be removed for cleaning? The screen should be removeable, but personally I don't know how. Somebody fitted it at the factory after all, so there must be a way to remove it. Just be careful. I imagine there are screws on the back of the motherboard and a cable connection somewhere. Better to flush it and avoid removal I would suggest.

Z690 Hero, 12900K, BIOS 3701, MEI 2407.6.1.0, ME Firmware 16.1.32.2473, 7000X Case, RM1000x PSU, ASUS TUF OC 3090TI, 2 x 16GB Corsair RAM @ 5200MHz, Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Corsair H150i Elite AIO, 4x Corsair RGB fans, 3x M.2 NVME drives, 2x SATA SSDs, 2x SATA HDs.

Yeah i figured as much... i removed most of the screws but there was one left behind the screen and i just cant be bothered risking breaking it since they already won't help me. Every post i've read about this board eventually says "send it to EK or asus". The good thing is the fins aren't gunked up or blocked, there's just too much residue for my liking. I'll start with ek's supreflush/loop cleaner and if that doesn't work i'll go for mayhems part 2.

Sounds like a plan. The condition looks pretty good to me, but nice to get those deposits out if you can. If flushing doesn't work, then I don't think cooling efficiency will be affected and probably not worth the risk of taking it apart. Maybe try and get a 'clear' cooling fluid after flushing. The various coloured ones are perhaps more likely to leave deposits and stains over time. It might be unavoidable anyway, clear acrylic parts are probably never going to look brand new forever.

Yeah this is my first watercooled build and i decided a long while ago that i was using water or a clear fluid. I can't complain too much since i basically got the monoblock for free at 950€. It's just frustrating that a flagship board that costs more than my old build cost new, that just isn't supported while still under warranty. Either way thanks man
