Z690-F Windows 11 crashes on startup after bios update to 2305

Hi

I have been having intermittent problems with my system, with windows 11 crashing to desktop when playing certain games, or having startup blue screen issues throwing thread exceptions etc.  After reading the forums I decided to update to the latest bios update 2305.  I did the update but afterward my pc does not want to boot into windows at all and just keeps blue screening or resetting with thread exception or IRQ more or less or unable to write to read only memory errors.  I tried rolling back the bios update to the previous version but its seems that is not allowed.  Can anyone help or has anyone had similar issues.

I am running the z690-5 with 500mhz DDR 5 Corsair memory, I9 thirteenth generation, and GTX 3080.

Have you tried running Memtest86+ from within the tools menu on the UEFI?

Yes, I've tested it, same thing. On the third test, it either freezes or restarts. I've already changed the RAM, motherboard, and NVMe drives. I've even booted without anything else, only with memory and processor running Memtest86 on the motherboard, and it's the same thing.

As you've already replaced quite a lot trying to diagnose this, I would recommend taking to a system integrator if at all possible. They can then troubleshoot the system and check the CPU.

Sorry for not replying in a bit, I am in the process of getting a gigabyte motherboard one I am more familiar with then I will be testing the same CPU, memory etc.. on it.  If they all work then it's the board, unfortunately I don't have spares lying around to swop out.  I will post the result but something I have been wondering about, when I first got this board, it did not even boot because it was incompatible with the 13th Gen I9, I got a bios update which resolved that but as stated was never stable.  I am thinking that the z690-f does not properly support the processor I have despite the documentation saying so.  I.e. I believe it was retrofitted for it.  From other practices which I have been watching and hearing about from Asus lately it would not surprise me.  And to answer the other questions I have only been running stock for this system, as anything else is too unstable.  It still won't boot into windows but hopefully when I get my new board next week, I will have good news as I don't believe from my experience the CPU or memory is the problem have tested both in various testing software.

In my case, somehow this update damaged my processor. I hope that's not your case as well. I tested my processor on a completely new system, and it didn't work. Therefore, I had to buy another processor and, obviously, another motherboard because I don't even want to consider using a new processor on this motherboard. I'm extremely disappointed with Asus.
