Z690 Apex XPG Lancer DDR5

fyi my experience - 2x16 XPG Lancer 5200MHz (A-Data, SpecTek)
bios 0702 - would not boot 5200MHz but was ok at 4800 Mhz (34-39-35)
bios 0806 - now boots ok xmp @5200 38-38-38 , fails 5400 but haven't messed with it yet

Maybe you meant 0803 as not seeing a 0806 out yet.

Having issues with 4x16gb sticks of the same xpg lancer ram on 0802 and earlier bios on z690 extreme. I know the QVL lists stated they only tested 2 modules max, but still.... I remain hopeful.

It definitely was 0806 for the Apex. Anyway, I'm gonna try some of the others too!

You guys try Shamino's latets BIOS?

Both Apex and Extreme BIOS version 0811 are in the top bunch....

At the bottom is a special Apex BIOS to try out.

It may be a bit more challenging running 4 sticks vs 2 for Z690 w OC

Yeah I would follow his BIOS updates religiously..especially if your having issues......seems hes constantly pumping them out to try and resolve issues.
Let us know how you make out....I'm especially curious to know how that "special apex" bios works out

Failed 5400...did you try leaving at 5200 and dropping from CAS 38 to CAS 36 ?

I read somewehere you need an increase in frequency of around 200 Mhz to be equal to dropping CAS 2 steps iirc.....

For example on my older Dominator 3200 C34...I could post and run stable 3400 C34 or leave em at 3200 and drop to C32,,,run a Memory Benchmark and about the same...although the lower C32 was a tad quicker.

Interesting thought yeah. No I haven't tried it - in the meantime I've had one failure/reboot every 24hrs or so unattended at idle at night and haven't had the "personal" time I need to get to the bottom of it. Why suddenly during idle? Perhaps my memory isn't completely stable at 5200 xmp, or maybe it's something else. With Xmas coming fast I may not get to the bottom of this until next week. But the choice between loosening at 5200 or tightening at 5000 may still become a reality. Also need time to try the other bioses.
