Dear ROG members,

I am about to purchase the DDR4 motherboard (https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/product/G4Gbt6/asus-rog-strix-z690-a-gaming-wifi-d4-atx-lga1700-motherbo...) with an i7-12700KF and the memory listed in the title (CMW64GX4M2K4000C18, https://www.alternate.nl/Corsair/64-GB-DDR4-4000-Kit-werkgeheugen/html/product/1642397) but I noticed this is not listed in the QVL of the board on the ASUS website.

Therefore, I am wondering if the memory will run at the listed frequency and speeds (or if it will work at all). Can anyone help answer?

Kind regards,

The QVL list is completely useless. Following that list, my RAM is compatible, and I can't even run memory-intensive programs without crashing themselves. Doesn't matter if XMP or default speeds.

My MOBO is stranded with a BIOS from November 11th. Get a MOBO from another brand.

64gb ddr5 has been a huge problem on my board as well (extreme z690). I had 4 sticks equaling 64gbs couldn't run all four for nothing, without errors. I can run 32gbs xmp/,manual whatever no problem(even overclocked alil), but the minute I add 2 more sticks its a $%^% show. I even ran it at stock speeds, only lasted an hour or so before crashes. 64gb problems are inherent it seems to alder lake. I cant speak for all other manufacturers but I know plenty of Asus owners with similar 64gb issues. I ended up selling my other kit on ebay since I couldnt use it. When theres a definite compatible ddr5 64gig kit, ill try to pick it up. I just cant help but wonder people(workstations) who have large ram requirements using alder lake if they cant get 64gigs to run.
