XMP Issues! ASUS Z790 Apex Encore | i9-14900KS | Corsair Dominator Titanium 8000mhz 2X24

So I am having issues enabling XMP and getting it stable beyond 6000mhz. I have been fighting this for months now. I have been through 2 apex boards, 4 different sets of ram from the QVL list, 2 i9-14900k's and now a i9-14900KS. I've tried everything I have been able to find on the forums with no luck. I've tried XMP 1 and XMP 2 and no difference. I have updated to the most recent Bios of 1503 as well. I researched the board before I started the build and this was the way to go for 8000mhz, but I cant seem to get it to work. I would be happy at this point to get to 7600mhz, but I cant get anywhere near that. I can pass memtest86 at 7600mhz but fail kahru in seconds. Usually by 7%

I went through 2xApex Encore, 2x14900K, 14900KS, 14900KF. 7200 kit from Corsair, 8000 kits from Patriot and G.Skill, 8200 kit from G.Skill...Then I got a second hand white Asus Apex Z790 and could run my Team Group 8000 48GB kit at XMP on my 14900KF and actually OC to 8200, both 60 min y-cruncher VT3 and 3 hours TM5 stable. There are many bad Encore boards around, playing with voltages for weeks helped with absolutely nothing getting 8000 to pass. You must get lucky with the CPU too. I used BIOS 9905 and 9909. I also used Thermalright contact frame with proper tightening, Heatkiller IV waterblock with "heavy" backplate and very careful TIM application. I also used my old Zalman RAM cooler that's really noisy, but got the temps on the sticks down. Actually I managed to OC my Patriot 7600 32GB kit easily to 8000 by raising the memory voltages on the white Apex and 14900KF. Everything must be perfect to make 8000~8200 stable. But now decided to get rid of this meme platform that requires BIOS tuning and stability testing to no end, no platform in the last 15 years has required so much tinkering trying to make it work well (no insane voltages and crazy temp spikes on custom water cooling at "stock"). I don't even need this much performance and my X299 still works like clock.

Anyway, from memory perspective, I suggest avoiding Patriot and G.Skill 8000~8200 kits and trying Team Group black 48GB 8000 kit. YMMV.

What bios are you using? Have you tried the newest bios? I could not get my ram stable for weeks, all it took was a newer bios and now its stable.

Im on newest 1503

I had a 14900ks sp114 chip that would not run anything higher than 6600mhz no matter what I did. I ended up going with a lower sp chip because it could run 8400mhz no problem. The memory controller on theses chips are very finicky. I would say keep messing with it but it sounds like you have done everything you can with this chip. You def have been unlucky, because 2/3 14k chips I had ran 6600 to 8400mhz between the three of them. Have you tried with one ram stick at a time to see if that runs stable? Different slots etc

No i havent tried one ram stick. Im running karhu now. Ive tried undervolting the CPU by 0.10 and currently im at 140% now errors at 7600mhz. Ill run this for about 30 mins and if it runs fine ill bump up to 8000mhz and see what happens

Karhu is best run for a minimum of 2 to 3 hours, or 4,000 to 6,000% coverage as a minimum. Typically, for a gaming system 4,000% should be sufficient.
