Worse nvme disk performance when VMD over SATA is enabled
When I enable the SATA controller to be mapped under VMD (Advanced -> System Agent (SA) Configuration -> Map SATA Controller under VMD - > Enable) I get worse performance for random reads\writes on my nvme drive (Samsung 1TB 980 PRO PCIe 4.0) despite the fact that I am making no change to my nvme drive.
In both cases, the regular VMD controller is enabled.
Below is a screenshot of my disk's performance without SATA over VMD:

I need SATA over VMD enabled so that I can do hardware RAID.
My motherboard is an Asus z690 E Gaming WIFI.
Is there a way I can configure my VMD settings so that I don't get degraded performance?
