Windows 11 chipset drivers installed on Windows 10 system

I think i downloaded and installed Intel Chipset driver V10.1.19502.8391 For Win11 64bit for my ASUS Z790 TUF Gaming motherboard on Windows 10 system.
(I would swear it was in Windows 10 section before and few days back it moved to Windows 11 section)

Should i be worried?

I wouldn't worry. I don't think you can remove the chipset drivers in add/remove programs, so I would simply install the correct ones and then use Driver Store Explorer (free download) to find old drivers and delete any. Start that programme as admin to allow driver deletion. Make a note of the old driver version to make sure it's gone. The easiest way to check, is to sort the drivers display by version number.

Just to be safe, backup your OS first, just in case you have any problems. Something like Macrium Reflect (also free) will do the job nicely, you will just need to create a boot USB within that software in advance, just in case you need to do a restore.

Z690 Hero, BIOS 3401, MEI 2406.5.5.0, ME Firmware 16.1.30.2361, 7000X Case, RM1000x PSU, i9 12900K, ASUS TUF OC 3090TI, 2 x 16GB Corsair RAM @ 5200MHz, Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Corsair H150i Elite AIO, 4x Corsair RGB fans, 3x M.2 NVME drives, 2x SATA SSDs, 2x SATA HDs.

Hey, thanks for answer.

That sounds overly complicated and i dont really want to install bunch of software i have never heard of.

I was hoping someone could reasure me that installing motherboard Windows 11 drivers on Windows 10 system wont cause any havoc. Because everything worked just fine. I didnt find any similar topic to this on google. To my knowledge there is no way to find what version of chipset drivers is currentlly installed. I assume installer detected what windows im using and updated only some drivers?

Anyway, i did clean windows reinstall just to be safe and used correct drivers.
