I am looking to get a 14900KS.

Per the title. Will Asus update the BIOS/firmware for the 1490KS, and if so,, when?

I don't have the dark hero but I have the regular hero with that same 2002 bios and the 14900ks it's not working properly. It's not detecting my 4090 GPU. Only the iGPU is working. I hope they get an update soon. I do not have my 13900ks anymore so I can't go back but I do have another PC to use for now.

!!UPDATE!! the 4090 works in my second build which is an old AM4 build. But my 3050 works in my AMD and 14900ks build on the same hero board the 4090 is not working on. I have narrowed it down to the BIOS at this point. Guess I have to wait......

!!!!!Final update!!!! Well, I ended up finding out what the problem was. It was the GPU. The funny thing is that it worked in my second build. but not with my 14900ks. so I had to get another 4090 that did work with it. I know this doesn't make sense at ALL, but I had to do what I had to do. lol

I can pretty much gananty there will be one. i am personally em on a z790 hero and my new 14900ks will arrive tomorrow replacing my 13900k that i had to downclock to be anywhere close to stable in modern unreal engine games thanks to some questionable choices in max voltage/amps seen on many motherboards...

that said i hope to see asus updating bioses quick for all z790 boards as the 14900ks is not listed as compatible yet and i am not gonna install it until i have confirmation that it will even boot if i installing right away, wasting thermal paste having to go back

Thanks. I hope to hear from Asus here. This would be a new build and I don't want to buy a motherboard that doesn't have the prerequisite support. Maybe @Jiaszzz_ROG can find out.  He has been really helpful.

just in case you have not seen it yet they updated their site today to list that its surported by default in your case (on the dark hero) and with bios 2002 in my case so i will be installing mine in a few moments

Make sure to check the beta BIOS over on the Raptorlake Resource thread. What 4090 do you have? I can’t see how it would be a BIOS issue. The KS SKU isn’t that different.

Thanks everyone! I just ordered a 13900KS. Not a lot of difference from what I can see.
