several years ago x370 Crosshair Hero board had six (?) contacts to measure cpu voltage with a multimeter. I wonder which 690/790 boards have this. Specifically does z790i have such contacts and where are they?

Hello @1TM1TM
If you're referring to the Probe It measurement points:
The Extreme and Apex motherboards have this functionality. The contact points are located above the ATX 24 pin connector.
If wanting to measure CPU Voltage specifically, you're better off using the ROG True Voltician Card ( USB Oscilloscope) via plugging into a USB 2.0 header and the OSC header. This is because the Probeit points are measured along the power plane before the CPU socket, and as such are liable to give a higher voltage reading than what the CPU actually receives.
The OSC sense pins from left to right, are for Vcore, VCCIN, and VCCSA. Via the ROG Voltician tool, you can accurately monitor CPU voltage.
