What is Optimem?

What is Optimem II and Optimem III?

Is that only for Daisy Chain layouts? Speaking of which, are all the Asus Z690 boards daisy chain for RAM? Does Optimem make it as stable on 4 sticks as on 2?

Hello,

all Z690 boards are daisy chain topology. Optimem is additional enhancements to the existing daisy chain topology to maximise signal integrity. It will aid in running more dense memory configurations, however more modules will always have concessions over less.

Thanks! That's super helpful. So does Optimem only help running like two dual rank DIMMs (one per channel i.e, 2x16GB), or does it also aid in running two single rank DIMMs per channel (i.e, 4x8GB)?

And when you say concessions, does that mean both timings and frequency or moreso just frequency?
