What connectors to use? Maximus Z690 Extreme and ROG Strix LC II

Hello Everyone
So I got a ROG Strix LC II 360 AIO and want to connect it on my Maximus Z690 Extreme board.

I have 2 very important questions:

1. What connector to use for the Water-cooling Pump?
-> W_Pump1 (3A/36W) OR CPU_Fan (1A/12W) OR CPU_OPT (1A/12W)?

2.The ROG Stric LC II 360 AIO comes with a daisy-chain cable to connect all 3 120mm Fans.
What connector to use?

-> W_Pump2 (3A/36W) OR CPU_Fan (1A/12W) OR CPU_OPT (1A/12W)?
Do i have to split 2 Fans / 1 Fan on 2 connectors CPU_Fan (1A/12W) and CPU_OPT (1A/12W), since they are only 1A/12W per connector
but 3 Fans?

Please help me out. I not want to burn the connectors or have a wrong/bad control of the AIO as one.

Thank u so much

You're welcome,

Give us an update after you get it installed.

Hi Nate
Sorry to bother u again. I definitely know the amperage for the fans, since i got the AIO this morning delivered.

PER Fan: 0.35A 12V 4.2W
Total 3 Fan: 1.05A 12V 12.6W

So, now The CPU_Fan header u suggested as a single plug use with daisy-chain 3X Fan has 1.0A 12.0W.
The needed power is 1.05A 12.6W comapred ti 1.0A 12.0W

Is this no risk or a reduction of max speed there?
Or do I better as already an Idea take 2 Fans on CPU_Fan and 1 on CPU_Opt and sync it in Bios?

Thank u again so much for the help

You could put two fans on the cpu fan header and one on the cpu opt header if you wanted, all three fans will still run at the same speed.

Hello Nate
Hallo Everyone

I installed the new AIO and did it like u / Nate suggested.

Waterpump on WPUMP_1
Fan 1+2 on CPU_Fan
Fan 3 on OPT_Fan

Everything works flawless. Temps are awesome to. Had a Aorus Waterforce X280 before.
There is no comparison! Im +10 Grad C. lower in general. Much more silent. and calm.
No Wine nothing. Pump is not hearable.
Make some Benchmarks the next days

The only thing i not got is how to set a fan hysterese, so it not howls up for 1 sec, as soon i open a program or such...
Maybe Nate now how to set.

Thats my Feedback so far.

Thank u Nate for the awesome, fast and professional help!

You're welcome, thank you for the update and good to hear all is working well.

Have you installed Armoury Crate to control the ARGB?

I'm not 100% sure but you may be able to control the fans from there too.

Sup Nate

Thanks for the reply.

Well I avoid Armory Crate!!! Its an instable bloatware, which causes fails only...
The ASUS Hardware is absolut TOP, the Software a total flop... 😞

Therefore I only use the BIOS to control the Fans / Fan-curve.
Other brands BIOS mostly have a menu to set a hysteresis on Fans (with an amount of time).
ASUS dont or I cant find it in the BIOS.

Have a good start into the new week! 😄
