Yes, V1.x is the e2f driver for W10, although it can also be used on W11. It is based around the old NDIS framework/model.

V2.x is the new e2fn driver for W11. It uses the new NetAdapter framework/model, which Microsoft recommend for all W11 network interface drivers. Intel also recommend e2fn on W11, unless you need to use the old NDIS style driver for some reason. e2fn is not supported on W10, and I don't think even the latest builds of W10 have the necessary updates to use the new style network interface drivers.

Just picked up a Z790-e and this latest driver still drops every few seconds for me on the latest win11. sigh. Is there a work around if the workaround driver doesn't work?

Hello and sorry if am missing something. When i download the drivers and double-click on Asussetup.exe nothing happens whether is the executable from the main folder or the Win11 folder. In fact this happens for other drivers from Asus page as well. am i missing something? Thanks alot.

The link to the drivers is not working. Is there another place i can get these drivers as I am having issues with drop connections and on driver version 1.1.4.38 on windows 10.

They have re-released it.  I think it's the same drivers, just updated installer.  It should be on your motherboard's downloads page, but here's a link:

I no longer even have this dang ethernet connection after I moved the z790h wifi to a y40 case. Even with recent BIOS updates, still isn't returning. How can I manually add this back to device manager when it's not even showing in hidden devices?
