Updated DDT and APO support - Z690/w 14th gen i9

Hello. I’m using my i9 14900k in my Z690 Hero MB. Recently there was an update to both DDT and Intel Application Optimization to expand games and function. I’ve found small benefits with last years DDT, but with the EA and Intel partnership.. im hoping this tool may help more now with EA titles beyond the recent focus with Xess.

DDT update v 9.0.11401.39039 ; version of both my DDT drivers from Device manager . Release date 9/12/23

I don’t see anything new in drivers for the 690 or 790 series. I see the 890 was released last month. Any official word on if us 690 users may see the driver update? I also get a notification when I open existing APO (V1.0.11405.43104) that there is an update available.. to check my MOBO vendor for updated software.

Also.. some users had issues in loading the last round: with 25H2 freshly released.. if there is any tie to that windows update it would be great to know. I’m personally holding off for a bit. Thanks ahead of time. Always got great use from the forum here.

The latest DDT and APO updates are currently optimized for 800-series chipsets, and Intel hasn’t released official support for Z690 yet. ASUS will post an update once Intel provides a compatible package. For now, it’s best to hold off installing manually, especially with Windows 25H2, as some users reported instability.

Thanks for the details on where things are. That helps. Probably not to great at the same time. Considering the 600 series is for the 12th gen proper, that association may be what holds intel back from being too concerned with the release. I know they aren’t really too interested on expanding support that far back for this effort.

I don't actually use APO at the moment, but I've tried on Z690 Hero and all was working fine in the past. I don't know if 25H2 has had any effect. I haven't actually tried again recently as I don't want to play any compatible games, but I have DTT 9.0.11911.64898 installed, available from MoKiChU in the Downloads for Motherboards section if you want to give it a try. Don't forget to enable in UEFI.

MoKiChU does list the drivers for Z690.

Z690 Hero, 12900K, BIOS 4301, MEI 2517.8.1.0, ME Firmware 16.1.38.2676, 7000X Case, RM1000x PSU, ASUS TUF OC 3090TI, 2 x 16GB Corsair RAM @ 5200MHz, Windows 11 Pro 25H2, Corsair H150i Elite AIO, 4x Corsair RGB fans, 3x M.2 NVME drives, 2x SATA SSDs, 2x SATA HDs.

Thanks John.. I will give intel some more time, but I may try this out if it just ends up not happening from them. I don’t really play the listed games either, but I’ve noticed some more stability in thread/cpu assignment in some games. Doesn’t result in a massive fps boost or anything, but the processor is much less erratic in loading. These are things I value overall and I think makes the whole system just a little smoother.

I’ve seen links to MoKiChu’s drivers in the past. Just never used them. Is he just a privateer who loves creating things like this for the community? Or is MoKiChu part of something more formal?

He simply releases drivers before Asus does. They are the official drivers (from Intel, for example), so you can use with confidence. I have been using his drivers for 3 years now and not a single issue. He's very helpful too, a great guy.

Forgot to say, his drivers should generally be installed by updating the relevant drivers in Device Manager, unlike the Asus drivers that come wrapped up in an easy to use installer.

Thanks for the info on both accounts. Great to have him in the community. Maybe I won’t wait then. I’ll give it a run.
