Updated BIOS to 1601 and getting very low FPS 15-20 in all games.

Hello all. For the past week I am having a really weird and annoying issue after updating Bios to v 1601. In all the games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, RDR2, Quake Champions I used to get 100+ FPS. Now I get 15-25 FPS. In addition Windows 11 randomly freezes even outside of games. Sometimes Windows hangs right after it starts. Sometimes an hour or so later simply while using the web browser.

In BIOS in Extreme Tweaker settings I tried leaving everything on default which sets memory on 4000 mhz instead of 4800 mhz. Tried manually settings DRAM frequency to 4800 mhz, and also tried the AEMP profile which sets memory to 5200 mhz. I did not try changing any voltage settings since I am not sure what to set them to.

All of the above did not help. If anyone has any suggestions please respond here. Thanks in advance!

Since BIOS updated all the BIOS settings were reset and I am not sure what exactly was customized in Bios for my system.
Below are the specs of my computer. I bought it prebuilt from a computer store.

I have rolled back to the 7 day old C:\ backup a few days before I started this forum thread. No older backups available.

Bios selector mode a a tiny little switch on the GPU. Basically it a switch to turn on Quite mode and performance mode. By default all GPU card out from factory line set it to performance mode. You have to try all trouble shoot here recommended by member here regardless in any tiny detail. That the way we enjoyed as a PC enthusiast, and that the fun.

I do not think my video card has this switch.

I want to thank all enthusiasts who are sharing their thoughts and ideas with me to try to resolve this annoying issue.

So you have tried several BIOS versions and a fresh install. I really thought that your problems were likely related to BIOS or software, so perhaps you do have a hardware fault after all. Is there any way you could put the GPU into another PC for test? I think you said you had done memory tests and they were good.

Sorry, but unless somebody else has some inspiration, it's looking likely that it might need to go back to the shop after all. If you do, ask them to test everything, including the PSU. You don't want it coming back only to discover that they missed something.

I only have one more idea. We have pets and dog hair gets everywhere. Could it be that dust or debris has made its way into the PCIe slots giving a poor connection? Have you inspected the GPU connector edge for any defects or dirt? You could always give everything a good blast of clean air I suppose, otherwise I'm running out of suggestions otherwise... let us know how it goes.

You didn't say if you checked temperatures to rule out faulty fans or a poorly seated CPU?

Right after the first BIOS update from 1304 to 1601 all previous BIOS settings got reset to BIOS DEFAULT. Then when I noticed the issue with FPS in games 15-25 and render latency 100+ ms, the first thing I did is roll back to previous versions of BIOS. I ended up installing all versions of BIOS beginning in the backward order from 1505 to 0811. Tried each of the BIOS versions on all default settings, and with XMP profile. I also tried with two memory sticks and also with only one memory stick in the motherboard. And none of the above helped to resolve the issue.

Going to reinstall Windows 11 now...

Have the same problem with same details. Updated bios and got low fps at all
