TUF Z790-P Wifi D4 - A1&A2 Ram Slots Not Working After New GPU

Hello there. After 6 years with ram nightmare MSI-Ryzen, I built a new PC with Asus-Intel. But i woke up to the same nightmare 😞

So i built this 10 days ago without 4070 ti. Everything worked fine. Rams were at 3600Mhz with XMP profile. No errors, fast boot. But yesterday i got my new 4070ti. I plugged it in and pushed the power button. Fans went turbo, it showed short red cpu led then long orange dram led, frequently repeating it.

I just installed a GPU.

So i tried with one stick on every slot. Slots B1-B2 are working but if i put anything to A1-A2 it never post. I can't use dual channel.

What i've tried;

- Updated bios to 0810
- Tested with old GPU

- Tested with old working 3200mhz 8gb ram sticks (x4)

- Removed Battery

- Reseated CPU Cooler

Nothing worked.

Also i'm experiencing severe audio popping with my Anker Soundcore Q35 bluetooth headset. I'm using mobo's bluetooth to connect, it worked fine before. Now it's another nightmare.
Any help will appreciated, thanks!

Here is my build:

CPU: Intel 13600K
Cooler: IDCooling SE-225-XT (2 Fan Tower)
MOBO: TUF Z790-P Wifi D4

GPU: Zotac RTX 4070 Ti
Ram: 4 x 16Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600Mhz (2 x Dual)
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF1 850W Gold

That's good news then 😁. One other thing you could try is one of those pressure plates/anti-bending buckles for the CPU. They have helped other people. Don't know if will solve your problem or not, but something else to consider. Of course, you might have a faulty motherboard. It's possible. Strange that the problems only started when you added the new GPU though. Have you tried the 4070TI in a different machine?

Z690 Hero, 12900K, BIOS 4001, MEI 2433.6.3.0, ME Firmware 16.1.35.2557, 7000X Case, RM1000x PSU, ASUS TUF OC 3090TI, 2 x 16GB Corsair RAM @ 5200MHz, Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Corsair H150i Elite AIO, 4x Corsair RGB fans, 3x M.2 NVME drives, 2x SATA SSDs, 2x SATA HDs.

I think i'm gonna wait for new bios, if problem persists i'll buy one of those. I'm still hoping that this is not a hardware problem 😞

Estou com o mesmo problema na mina mobo Z790-p WIFI, Slot A1 e A2 não reconhece as memórias. Teve alguma atualização e conseguiu solucionar? Qual a Solução encontrada?

Não estou usando GPU, processador i9-13900k

Hello, the contact frames are a sound investment, so I second this suggestion. It can help alleviate the stress on the socket.

OK, do try and eliminate the GPU though when you get chance. It's going to be a case of elimination I think. Frustrating 🙄

I think i can get a new 12100F to see if those slots are working. If CPU is faulty, i can do my work with 12100f till i get a new one. That's the cheapest test to start with i guess 😞

I ended up buying Thermalright LGA 1700 Bracket (same with Thermal Grizzly's)

Didn't fix the a1-a2 slot issue. 😞

I'm pretty sure mobo is dead.

Try removing the motherboard from the chassis and retesting. It’s not making a lot of sense unless something was perhaps damaged in the process?

I did that too, checked standoffs, changed screws, mounted them equally.

Unfortunately given the events that lead up to the failure, I would initiate an RMA or take the system to an integrator and see if they can troubleshoot the system for you.
