TUF Z790 GAMING PLUS WIFI D4 not posting

My one week old motherboard suddenly started flashing the onboard RGB lights every time i try to power on the computer. I have everything disconnected from the board except the CPU and 2 DIMMS.

All started yesterday as i was daisy chain connecting some of the fans that my new case came with. I am using a MEshify 2 RGB.

At first the RGB switch didnt want to work well with the fans, so i connected them on the onboard RGB header.

It was then when the motherboard stopped working.

None of the QLED indicators is on, just the RGB blink. I ve send my PSU (Corsair RM850X) for a check and service claimed that it works without any issues.

Here is a video of the symptom

Any ideas?

So after a painful "take everything out and start over" session, i managed to have all systems up and running. I am not sure what the root cause was but after carefully connecting one component at a time, booting to post, power off, connect next component, repeat the issue has been resolved.

If you're saying that you connected the fans to the RGB header, I think that's your problem. Does the motherboard stop flashing if you disconnect the fans and RGB connectors? I suspect that too much current is being drawn and the flashing indicates an overload.

I might have misread your post. If already disconnected and it still flashes, then probably not a good sign. If it was an overload, then it could be damaged.

No worries. The case has an independent  controller besides the one on the motherboard. I have tried both options separately but the result remains the same. All the above with only cpu and dimm on different slots to test for errors. QLED remains clean.

What i haven't tried is take everything out of the case and start connecting piece by piece after testing for post signal. I will try that tomorrow and come back with some feedback. For the moment i am too tired to think of any other cause

OK, sounds like a plan, good luck
