TUF GAMING vs MSI Edge/Tomahawk

I’m upgrading to Alder Lake in a few weeks, moving away from Gigabyte due to past BIOS issues. *The Strix DDR4 board is out because of my Noctua cooler. I’m down to either the TUF GAMING DDR4, MSI Tomahawk or Edge WiFi. They are all within $10-$30 of each other.

Onboard sound and RGB don’t matter. *For sound, I’m using an AE-5 Plus. The ports on the back will suffice my needs.

*Really only differences I see are VRMs (14 at 80a; 16 at 70a and 16 at 75a, respectively), BIOS features/layout and 8+4 vs 8+8 power connectors.

I plan on attempting to mildly overclock once things are up and stable. *Seems like any of the boards should satisfy this contingent on a good chip and cooling. **What I can’t seem to find the answer to is does the TUFboard have the AI overclock or is that limited to Strix models? *

Anything I’m missing or other thoughts?**

Thanks

I do not know about the AI OC on the TUF. I have the strix. From what i have seen though if you plan on running high memory clocks some people have issues running 4000+ in gear 1 on MSI Tomahawk and Edge.

Same people went to Strix and no issue. Just heads up if you want to run higher clocks and tight timings like 4000c15+ gear 1. Also a couple people bought both Strix and Tuf and compared and manually OC CPU and mem and got the same results.

Note if going with 4x8 mem much past 3600-3800 can be difficult on any of the z690. Highest i seen was MSI with loose timings@4000c17-18-18. And that is probably a unicorn with 4x8 or unstable.
