I have this GSkill 8400 kit with default 40,52,52 timings working quite well with 1.5V VDD/VDDQ. Tightened the timings some. Any room to go further? 36, 48,48? Is 1.5V adequate?

Yes I think I saw you post you had a dark hero then went to an encore and then changed cpu and got it working. It could have been someone else. But I went down the same path if not. Yes happy I got it working also. Really appreciate help. Now time to beat the kids in some games!! lol.

That was someone else. I always had the encore. I never could get 8400 stable with that 14900k, but the ks was quite stable until the motherboard pooped out. Stability was much better.

O ok my bad. Well as we both have seen and found out and learned the KS is key to get it to XMP above 8000 in my case 8400. Your Encore took a poop on you? What happened? I got another encore and this KF thinking of letting my son have it since his pc I built 4 yrs ago and he is interest in PC building he has already torn his apart to change stuff out and painted his case and GPU 🤦. Just happy I got it to work. Now all these other ram kits send back and get refund. And by tuning the KS I found the max for it so it will XMP1 @ 8400. Just frustrating I had to learn the hard way and have $1200 in CPUs live and learn. 2 months messing with it and I just need to spend another $700 to get it to XMP at 8400 😂.

Yea, well we are under the hardware enthusiast category. Most of us buy stuff just to see how fast it will go, tinkering with settings. I learn stuff every time I do a build. My encore lost a memory channel I guess. Would not post code 55 with the slot occupied close to the CPU. It actually posted with one dimm in the second slot B2 I think. Off for RMA, but I have hardware I am tuning this weekend, so no big deal. It happens.
