Safest BIOS settings for ROG Maximus Z970 Dark Hero

Snappy

I've completed my build and feel I may not have all all the optimal BIOS settings. I don't need to overclock or push my memory speeds. I don't game but do extensive photo and video editing. Intel Core i9-14900KF, ASUS MB is at 1801.

My goal is stability.

Here is a snapshot after I woke up my computer and noticed the ASUS window come up before the windows screen. This was with no programs running. It wasn't pinned to max but ramps up and down. Thank you.

Here is where I am at, actually noticed I was considering changing to Performance but left it at Extreme.

Hi @Snappy

Performance will limit PL1  further under certain load conditions, so if stability is your primary concern, you can change this and leave everything else at default.

Thank you. I've been digging around and according to a reply from Intel on an Intel Community support forum, while recommending Performance for most CPU's they recommend Extreme for the i9-14900KS. Things may have changed but this post is why I set my MB to Extreme.

Thank you for creating a thread in Intel Communities.

Regarding your concern, our suggestion is we recommend that you use extreme profile if your board’s Voltage Regulator (VR) and motherboard is designed to support it.

Usually a Z790 chipset board will support extreme profile, but kindly reach out to your board manufacturer to confirm this.
