ROG Z790: NVMe Speeds Horrible?

SportBud
Level 7

I have a Crucial T700 PCIe 5.0 SSD which I think is one of the fastest drives on the market. I think my speeds are horrible compared to advertised benchmarks. This is on a clean Windows 11 install with minimal applications running -- just installed two days ago.  What's wrong?  I would appreciate any help as I have been reading on Google for two days and can't figure it out.

Screenshot should give you a ton of information on my setup. I tried to capture it all in the layout. lol 🙂

The drive is listed as running at PCIe x4; it will be faster running at PCIe x5. The x5 slot is usually identified as M.2-1, which is located on the CPU side on the PCIEX16_1 slot. All of the other M.2 slots are x4. Note that the GPU will be reduced from x16 to x8 speed; that is OK since there is sufficient bandwidth to not see any GPU speed reduction.
