ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI II usb issues

Initially, I thought I had a faulty keyboard, but after reading some other complaints online, I'm no longer convinced.

Symptom: Keyboard will stop working for no apparent reason - lights remain on indicating it's connected. I have to unplug the keyboard and plug it back in to get it working again. Obviously, less than ideal particularly in the middle of a game or typing code. Nothing screws up code like having your train of thought destroyed for several minutes while figuring out why your keyboard isn't working.

Anyone else having this issue or have a solution?

Mine is doing the same thing, but my lights and mouse are 50/50 if i change the port they may work but not all the time.

Two quick ideas:

1) Turn off power saving on the USB root hubs in Device Manager

2) Try using the keyboard with a powered USB hub - it might be drawing enough power to be close to the port power limit
