ROG STRIX Z690-G Gaming

Hello, wondering if anyone else suffers the same problem.

I have a Z690-G and have updated the Bios to version 0702 but I cant get the XMP profiles to work, the computor wont boot when I activate XMP1 or XMP2. It does not work if I do it manually either.

I have 2*16gb Corsair Vengence DDR5 5200

Try the following. Activate XMP Profile 1 and enter the below manually

VDD 1.3v

VDDQ 1.35v

TXVDDQ 1.3v

MC VDD 1.35v

System Agent (SA) 1.25v

First, thank you for the reply.

Second, realised that I had made a rookie mistake.. When I installed memory back in the day it was always (I think) memory slot 1 and 3 you where supposed to put the sticks in. I now looked in the manual and saw that 2 and 4 was the preferred setting. Shifted that and tried the XMP1 and it booted and now it works as intended.

Conclusion: Read the manual sometimes. 😃

It's been hard so here my settings:
XMP - 1
VDD - 1.35
VDDQ - 1.35
MC VDD - 1.34
LLC - 3LEVEL
AC_LL - 0.6
DC_LL - 1.7
BY CORE USAGE - AUTO
Enforce all limits
pl1 - 165
pl2 - 170 (with auto time window for pl2)

On second day after 50-100 tests in prime95, games, maybe it's stable) But for now 2004 is decent bios.

2103 running stable

I get it, instability not only in memory but in cpu, all you need to do:
LLC 3 LEVEL
AC_LC = 0.9 (or 1.1 AC_LC=DC_LC INTEL recommended)
DC_LC = 1.1 (DC_LC=LLC3)
And that it full stable:rolleyes: maybe

I just built a system based on the Z690-G and after being on all day, performing light duties, PCH is hitting 99 degrees! It is by far the hottest thing in my system. I see quite a few threads about high chipset temperatures, it seems to be a real weakness with recent Asus boards. Any tips for reducing this temperature on the Z690-G? I have upgraded to the latest 2103 BIOS.

Spent some time looking at the high chipset temperature problem. Turning on from cold the PCH immediately hits 50°C, after about 15 mins sitting in the BIOS it reaches 75°C. I am using all three M.2 slots and my RTX3090 covers half of the chipset heatsink. The fans on the GPU don't spin unless gaming, so over the course of a day the heat builds. I have now positioned a small fan near to the chipset to provide some extra airflow in that area. The cooling solution on this motherboard is disappointingly inadequate.
