ROG STRIX Z690-A Gaming WIFI D4 with DDR4-4000 G.Skill F4-4000C14-16GTRS and 12900K

No Gear Mode 1 boot stable DDR4-4000, after Bios update higher than 0901.
0901 works great, but all versions after that. 1003, 1201, 1304, 1404 only boot in Gear Mode 2 otherwise safe boot error or max Gear Mode 1 max DDR4 3200.
Back to 0901.

901 is best for DR b die. Bios ffter 901 you will need to set vddq manually to 1.35 to 1.4v to boot in the 4000+ range.

The only reason I would run newer bios than 901 is if on KS you need it as 901 locks e core at 3400. 1403 is the best bios yet for KS/DR b die but again anyone using it and running DR b die at even 3800+ I would set vddq to 1.35 to start with.

This is new to me I wasn't aware you could do gear 1 mode at any DDR 4 speed over 3600Mhz RAM, My ram is DDR 4 3600Mhz and everytime I test going over 3600Mhz it goes to gear 2.

Hey guys, I just built my first build with a 12700k strix z690-a wifi d4, ftw3 ultra 3080. I'm on bios 0807 with windows 11 and have random crashes during gaming that will restart my whole system. System will bootloop with my corsair vengance 3200 8x2 even without xmp enabled. With a spare set of gskill ripjaws 2x8 3200mghz it runs fine and stable with xmp enabled, both the gskill and corsair were I believe at 1.35v. Also in armoury crate under the device tab I can't access my ryujin ii aio it detects it but doesn't load anything. I've already Uninstaller and reinstalled. Should I update my bios to a newer version if so which one? Also any help with armoury crate and not being able to load my ryujin ii settings would be helpful. Thanks guys.

Just logged on here after a few months I tried a few different bios and couldn't get xmp to run my pc kept overheating and blu screen. I've had a private message that the last beta bios worked on xmp. Not tried this new bios or the beta one yet. Have you had any luck ?
