ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 BIOS 0901 Release 12/23/2021 (Discuss)

On the bios webpage for the Rog Strix Z690-A D4 board there appears to be a new bios update 0901. On the webpage as of right now there seems to not be any information provided about what's new in this update.



Has anyone tested it out yet?

I have ASUS Z690-A Wifi D4 with old 3000 mhz Kingston Memory. Had so many problems with XMP, but this thread helped me a lot.
Thank you all so much for the posts.
Now my pc works great and stable with 2800MHZ, @1.365, CL15-17-17.

fyi, I know nothing about overclocking memory, I use XMP profiles.

Win10 Pro

Picked this memory as on Corsair & Asus QVL
Also Picked due to this Forum recommendations to use 2 sticks, I wanted 32gb

I booted first time with both ram sticks in correct slots - No Bios, just black screen. Many attempts. Kept getting Yellow DRAM light on Q-LED's. Clear CMOS, remove battery, etc.
Tried with just 1 stick in A2 - after a couple more tries, finally got to the Bios. Default Settings. Memtest Failed. Bios 0605

Tried 0707, 0807, 0901 Memtest Failed, swapped sticks, failed. I wasn't happy.

***Tried 0901, both sticks, XMP 1, XMP 3596Mhz - 18-22-22-42, Memtest has PASSED many times. Now I'm happy!***

Win 10 Pro, Cinebench Good, Very Happy!

Now to mess with making cpu faster. Gonna try AI as I know nothing about CPU OC except profiles - I just like quality/stability of ASUS and easy... 🙂

...sure gotten cheaper to build a box! Do miss the days of 3D though...

Dear all since bios beta 1001, with fine tuning of secondary timings I managed to get decent results.
