Now I use my 14900 with a ddr4 Rog Strix Z690. It’s really ok but I consider an upgrade to Ddr5.
I have two options:
1) Buy a new Strix z790 in white color how i like better.
2) Buy a second hand Maximus Hero, only 4 months old, in warranty from a person I know , a bit cheaper than Strix ( like 40usd)
if the Maximus mobo was white was not and questionable, I got the Maximus. Like this i think what to do, will Maximus gives me a better performance especially in Ram where i wish to go a bit higher, like 7200??
What is a good Ram recommendation for this mobo?
Thank

I repeat, it’s a Hero not a Dark Hero

Hi @Dimidragos
Have you weighed up the advantages of going DDR5? What's the system used for?
Personally, I'd save your money and go for a newer platform or wait it out, but again, depends what the use case is.
For gaming, 7800 X3D 9800 X3D would make far more sense, and far outweigh any performance gain you'd receive from moving to Z790 with DDR5 with the same CPU. ROG STRIX X670E-E GAMING WIFI

I understand your point but I just bought the 14900k I don’t have the brain and energy to sell it and start again a new one. Beside that my limited knowledge it’s reading Intel i never use AMD. I know it’s better for gaming but i think 14900 it’s enough better for me at least. About Ram i believe that DDR5 will be more natural for a CPU like 14900k that an old technology. How much i can gain or if i gain something i really don’t know. In same time yes i consider to really don’t do anything now and keep this 14900 with DRR4

Honestly, I would. There's not a lot to be gained from the additional bandwidth available with DDR5 alone, you need that IPC uplift from moving to something like an 9800X3D.
That said, it's entirely up to you. Sometimes it's good to learn these things first hand 🙂
