Hello all! I just upgraded to a z790 hero, i9 14900k. the internet speed is bad over ethernet or WIFI. this new system is hooked up to the same cable, modem/router as my strix Z390-E system was before that had no issues. I checked on my wifes laptop thats conected to a ethernet cable on a differnt port though a dock and she has no issue. I thought it could be a driver issue so i installed the ASUS "take over your pc software" aka Armoury Crate and updated the drivers. I still had the same issue. So, I blew out windows and reinstalled from scratch, found the latest network drivers from intel - Intel I226-V ver 2.1.3.3 and still same issue. I have read many posts about this issue or something like it and I also have tried disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and thunderbolt and disabling the let windows control the power in the network driver. I thought I was going crazy so I plugged in my old rig just to check if it was the cable or the port on my router and nope, got 1.1g down with the internet. Then I thought maybe just maybe it was the windows install.. so I reloaded again and when that didnt work I reloaded and installed an older version of the driver and still slow. so I ordered an another hero Z790 motherboard and installed it today. I reinstalled windows with the orgianal bois that was on the board from February and let windows install the driver and it was still slow. so I updated the bois to 1501 and installed the latested ethernet drivers I226-V and here i am writing this long post hoping someone thats smarter than me can assist me in this before I go and buy a differnt board. cause now i have 2 hero Z790 board that have the same issue.

In this forum, MokiChu supplies all of the latest drivers. The link to his LAN drivers is here:
You will also find a link on that thread to all of his other drivers - everything you'll need to be bang up to date. The latest intel LAN drivers are 2.1.3.15. Hopefully that will help, otherwise, there have been known ethernet issues in the past and you'll [probably find more information if you search these forums. I don't know the answer off-hand as I don't use ethernet, just Wi-Fi. Hope this helps you get it sorted...
If you haven't done so already, have a quick look in Device Manager and make sure you have no devices missing drivers. When you go to the support pages, you do need to expand the driver sections to see everything, but if you use MoKiChU's drivers, you'll find everything you'll need there (apart from the latest BIOS).

John, thank you for you reply, this did fix my issue. Kinda. so I found that it was a order issue. I did install the drivers and it didnt work. so I then reloaded windows again. installed each driver one at a time and found that I needed to install the ME first, then clear the cmos, set bois to XMPII then install windows by using the bypassnro because windows didnt see the nic or wifi drivers. boot into a clean install and then install the nic drivers.
thinking about it, it probably had nothing to do with the order but it works now. thanks again for your link. it did help. I have passed it on to try and help someone else
