ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DH Surround Sound Help

Ive updated, uninstalled and tried both Realtek and ASUS Realtek drivers. The results are the same.

I stopped using the optical digital and started to use the 6 channel 3.5mm connections. I have a Logitech Z906 set up.  The left, Right, and sub (according to the test) work but nothing from the two rear or center speaker. Ive searched for about 5 hours and burnt out trying to figure this out. Can someone please help with this?

Is 5.1 output active in Windows Sound?

You can set this there and also test whether the channels are available.

Basically, 5.1 channels are only used if the playback material is 5.1, unless you want virtual 5.1, which then plays the sound on all channels.

So check in Windows Sound and your output source set there (Realtek) whether all channels are working.

If this is not the case, check the connection of your Logitech to the sound connections on the mainboard to make sure that the speakers are connected correctly, i.e. Front, Rear, Center/Subwoofer. The corresponding connections are color-coded accordingly.

Thank you for the response.

Yes the 5.1 output is active in windows, and Ive  checked the connections and also tried the center/sub swap.
