Why it says EVA? ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO EVA- is another motherboard on its own
This doesnt have the newset bios even on its site.

That's a great job isn't it. Not the first time that things like this have happened. I'd say just wait for it to be corrected. With BIOS updates for so many boards, I think somebody has made a mistake.
Actually, the BIOS file looks like it's probably the correct version, although I have no plans to try it yet.

The BIOS file name seems to be correct: ROG-MAXIMUS-Z690-HERO-ASUS-3802.zip
Also when you update BIOS in Asus EZ Flash it will display the motherboard name for which BIOS is meant. If it has EVA in name, just don't update.

I'm sure it just an awkward means to indicate it is an Evaluation bios. It is beta

This is what i think aswell. But it's mistake ether way cause EVA-Motherboard also exists. If it didn't, there shouldn't be any problem. They should mark it as beta in this case.
And yes, i think this is the correct BIOS but not going to risk it "just in case".

Thanks, I prefer to keep my BIOS up to date, but I've never bothered with a beta BIOS before, so I'd be interested to know how you get on... for 12th gen CPUs, I imagine that code 0x129 probably has no effect anyway in theory.
