Remove Sonic

After searching the first time I managed to uninstall Sonic Suite companion app. Had issues and had to start again. Now I can't figure out how to remove it.

Windows store = useless. Not listed as an app in my library.
Task manager shows no Sonic stuff at all so nothing to disable from startup yet it's there everytime I log into my account.
Windows > Settings > Apps allowed my to uninstall 2 Sonic ??????? apps but the companion app is not listed.
If I click the app it takes me to the Windows store and it's product page with the GET option. It's clearly bloody installed if its linking me the the bloody store.
If I click start and then find it I can click uninstall which then loads control panel which does NOT have any sonic suite to uninstall
Tried reinstall audio drivers hoping for a way to deslect it but nothing shows as an option


Can someone provide a wway to uninstall it?

I tried for quite a while to uninstall Sonic Studio 3 as I suspected (at the time) it was causing some sound issues. After removal (uninstalling the app) Sonic Virtual Mixer was still appearing in options for sound. I had to use Driver Store Explorer from Redit to kill it (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-OMMEk3q4E). Once the drivers are removed, Sonic Virtual Mixer disappears in Device Manager and Windows sound options. I deleted drivers relating to 'A-Volute*' and the Publisher Nahimic. There were 4 drivers in total. I did not remove the Realtekasio.inf driver mentioned in the video link above, since I have Realtek drivers installed.

However, Windows Update subsequently installed Nahamic Media 1.0.2.0 and A-Volute - Software Component 3.5.1.0 again.

Following the driver locations from DriverStoreExplorer, the A-Volute and Nahimic files are located here:
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\a-volutenh3aposwc.inf_amd64_d717bd2d70c0d848
C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\avolutess3vad.inf_amd64_79cd9525c9a5e12a

I cannot see any services or processes relating to these in Task Explorer or Autoruns 64 (but actually two files are listed - NahimicSvc32Run and HahimicSvc64Run, although both of these state 'file not found'). So a-volutenh3aposwc.inf and avolutess3vad.inf do appear in DriverStore Explorer again (originally there were 4 files listed) but despite that, the software now seems to be dead and non-functioning.

Bear in mind that after the above steps, reinstalling the software again will not work. It complains that drivers are missing.

I also found that there is also a NahimicServices.ini file in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\a-volutenh3aposwc.inf_amd64_d717bd2d70c0d848 which appears to refer to the missing files (NahimicSvc32Run and HahimicSvc64Run) listed in Autoruns64.

They are listed in the NahimicServices.ini file as NahimicSvc32.exe and HahimicSvc64.exe. Uncannily similar to the missing files in Autoruns! There is also a folder called A-Volute here C:\Windows\System32\A-Volute\AGSConfigurator\NahimicV3 but it's empty on my system.

Since I tried to remove/kill the software there have been no ill effects and despite the remaining traces, everything is working fine. I actually discovered that my sound issues were most likely related to VirtualBox in the end and probably not Sonic Studio. Oh well, I hope my experience helps you on your quest lol.

That was never an option before. Maybe those of us that complained about it had them change it to later drivers. Would have preferred the option to just toggle it from being installed in the first place kinda like how we can toggle not to install Geforce Experience when we instal GPU driver.

you're GOATed. I was on the verge of losing my damn mind trying to remove Sonic Suite and your suggestion worked out perfectly.

Nice to see you can do it this way. Though I'm still P******* that over a year later it hasn't improved

1. still don't get the option not to install it in the first place. It's like Nividia unistalling GeForce experince without telling us

2. It's not listed in Task Manager Startup programs

3. Not in Control panel Apps to uninstal

4. 2xSonic Studio apps in Windows Settings > Apps

5. Even checking 2 & 3 and removing both apps in 4 It's still loads the ****** app. To me thats Malware behaviour. Should NOT be hiding the app in places you don't expect and preventing either of the tradional ways to uninstall from working.

Thanks and sorry for the rant. Not updating my Audio drivers on this board again. Really shouldn't have to try all the basics and check back here. I can't think of a single app that you can uninstall from inside the app.....

Its far safer just to DISABLE the SONIC VIRTUAL MIXER Device in the legacy Audio Control Panel (ALL WINDOWS VERSIONS!)
The Result will be that the change is reversible, non intrusive and instantly removes the device from your list of sound devices in the task bar (at least in windows 11).

That would be simple but that wouldn't remove the software that I can NOT prevent from loading on startup nor uninstal in any normal way. Fail to see how disabling would be safer? If I really needed/wanted it back I could just install it again like how it got installed the first time. Thread almost a year old and since I followed MoKiChU steps in post #4 I've had 0 issues.

Consider Nvidia not telling you it will be installing Geforce Experience when you install your drivers. This is the same thing. Installing extra software that we can't simply disable from startup nor using either option to manually uninstal it does not work should not be bundled and hidden in a driver. It's extra software. I know I didn't want it thus given the infomation and optin I never would have installed it. I shouldn't have had to even come to the forum to find a away to uninstal something others and myself did NOT want.

You guys do realize if you uninstall Sonic Studio, a bunch of the audio controls in Realtek Audio Console don't work, right? I found this out because a few weeks after I uninstalled mine with tips from this thread, I realized the room correction volumes were having no effect, and then found the EQ had no effect.... With a 5.1 setup this stuff is kinda critical to getting it set up right. Anyway, after a lot of screwing with things, completely uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, etc, I tried putting Sonic Studio back on and BINGO, just like that everything worked again.

So if you decide to uninstall Sonic Studio, caveat emptor. You might break something.

Only have monitor speakers or headphones so room correction wasn't needed.

Secondly when something gets installed with a weird way to uninstall I treat like Malware. Ok it's improved siince I first installed it almost 2 years ago as you can uninstal from inside the app but even that is a weird way to uninstal it.

Thirdly, last time I checked it's still not even mentioned as an optional portion of the audio drivers. Thats like Nvidia installing Geforce Experience without even showing users let alone asking us first.
