I was wondering if the Z790-E II is going to have a further update on the BIOS (and Armoury Crate)?
The last updates for these were around 19th June 2025.
I appreciate that this board is getting older now. If they discontinue support I guess I will have to change to a Z890.
From what I've read - "Armoury Crate is transitioning towards being available as a Microsoft Store app, with the aim of streamlining future updates".. I am yet to see it available on my system.
Solved! Go to Solution.

I went ahead after posting last, and saved my Fan Control & SignalRGB configs, then uninstalled those softwares and disabled AIDA64. Then I installed AC and updated the firmware of the AIO which was actually on there and anything else I can't remember was on there.
Then I uninstalled AC with the Uninstall tool and re-installed/enabled all my previous software. That solved the problem. There wasn't anything wrong with the operation of the AIO, but I realise it's just best to keep it up-to-date anyway.

armoury crate is full blown bloatware. I would uninstall that.
As for z790 they are not discontinuing updates at all? Updates are slower because the platform is more than mature.
Z890 had a lot of bugs and issues so they get priority in terms of updates. If that is the only reason you want to update then all power to you but i think that is 100% not worth it.

Thanks, I will just have to wait patiently. The thing is, I only need to use AC for updating the firmware on my proprietary Ryujin III AIO as there's no other way of doing it. I intend to uninstall AC straight afterwards.

I know it doesn't actually say anything about it on this page - but does anyone remember or know if their Ryujin AIO's have a firmware update with this? - (assuming they have one).
I am thinking of just installing AC again and seeing what happens.

I can't answer your question but give it a try - you can always use the Armoury Crate uninstaller (from the support page) to remove it again. I still use Armoury Crate but only because it's a convenient way of controlling my RGB strips. It doesn't do anything else useful since they removed the drivers update section. In any case, MoKiChU's drivers are a much better way to update things to be honest.
