i will use this as a collection of test bioses/tools/info targeted towards Raptorlake + z69/790

NOTE for Z690: You must update ME on your Z690 to properly support raptorlake (if you are on dual bioses then you need to do this to both bioses)

1) d/l and install ME driver
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/DRV_MEI_Intel_Cons_ADL_TP_W11_64_V2229320_20220809B....

2) update ME with ME Update Tool (I know there are newer versions but its not up on Asus official site yet so >= this version is fine)
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/MEUpdateTool_16.1.25.1885_T.zip

3) update to Latest BIOS of your choice

Note 2 for Z690: i have some Z690s that are already LOW in battery so you are advised to use a new Battery during this upgrade.

by some reason even jdec doesn't read normally. after 0816 bios. my jdec is 4800, but all relatively new bios set first boot 3600 then after restart 4200 include 2503. 0816 set 4800. when using two kits it's a big mess, i had same with rig before what i had from 2018 to 2022 ddr4 at 3600 15 15 15 35. 3 years i even didn't know i had 1.36 memory controller and system at 1.35 or something like that. 3 bloody years. then after 3 years i had deep black screen, and fix that only when remove ram stick by stick and get back stick by stick. and only after that set there manually something like 1.22 1.12 respectively i don't remember for sure. now btw i have 1.385 mc, but people say it's o.k. for z790 13900k and ram like mine.

Can somebody tell if in latest new BIOS 3001 for Z790E is still possible to disable Enhanced C-States?

So it's still possible on my motherboard (see signature). So it should be the same for your motherboard.

Intel Core i7 13700K / AiO Fractal Design Lumen S36 v2 RGB / Asus Rog Strix Z790-F Gaming WIFI / Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5-5600 64GB (4x 16GB) / Asus TUF RTX 5070 Ti OC / 4x Samsung 980 pro 1TB / Seasonic Prime GX 850 W Gold / Fractal Design Meshify 2 Lite RGB Black TG Light Tint / Monitor AOC Q27G2S/EU (WQHD)

I have the "F" version, and I can disable Enhanced C-States.

Sorry to revive an old thread.

Is there any way anyone could modify 0507 BIOS for me?

I have Z790 Apex Encore and the only BIOS that will work is that one. Anything newer will result in a boot loop B4 (USB Hot Plug) and nothing will stop it.

I was hoping someone could add Microcode selector / chooser on 0507 BIOS so this way I could still safely use it?

I followed a similar process when updating my Z690 Hero for Raptor Lake support — updating the ME firmware made a big difference in stability. One thing I noticed is that after running the ME Update Tool, it’s best to reboot twice before flashing the BIOS to ensure everything initializes properly. Also, if anyone runs into issues where the system doesn’t POST after flashing, try clearing CMOS and reseating RAM — it helped me when I tested on my setup at https://ziaam.com/free-tools/ . Solid advice about the battery too — I replaced mine before flashing, and it definitely avoided a few potential headaches.

Can you please release an updated and official Asus Realtek USB AUDIO driver package with standalone Sonic Studio 3 support for Z790 platforms?

The last package is from 2024 and driver version 6.3.9600.2393.
The latest driver for Realtek USB AUDIO is 6.4.0.2426 WHQL from late 2025, but there are only modded drivers circulating around.

Why Asus can't support premium motherboards Z790 with proper driver support?

There are three system where you can download official drivers for Asus premium motherboards. ALL OF THEM HAVE OUTDATED DRIVERS, and are complete mess.

1) Official Website.

2) Armory Crate -> buggy, bloatware.

3) driverhub.asus.com + tray app -> lightweight and in general good concept but no finished, and driver packages are OUTDATED there.

Nonee of above systems provide good driver support and Asus uses need to go to third party websites or use modded (unsafe) drivers.

Please fix this already and pick a system for driver distribution that you mean actually support in long term.

Otherwise some of your customers, including me, will go to competition (MSI, Gigabyte).

You ask Premium prices, but don't provide premium support. Even good hardware with croppy software is just a metal junk.

Yep... thumbs up!

I myself don't use any of your mentioned software/tools and therefore, I have only very little experience with all of that.

Is any of the following apps maybe useful for you?

this is not advice and not a spam... just my experience. internal sound very long time disabled in the bios, so system just don't see this and don't ask the drivers. for media and games i use gsx1200pro(:because 1000 wasn't in the store i bought:) and this also don't need any drivers, but windows inside that appear in the device manager. all i had need only set there settings i want. in games and in movies srh1540 i think 100% open the potential maximum true way without any "enhancement fancy things" same as rtx hdr need to see for believe in sdr games or movies, this sound creature i had need to hear for believe it can give really 7.1 sound in stereo ears. only limitation is 50om impedance as everything higher will not get enough signal, and any forced tricks will distort the sound. so good enough with certain limit of the resistance phones. would be enough. if you use integrated for big speakers 7.1 as home theater or something it's not variant, as habit part of nature:) but if accidently you use only stereo with headphones, or even stereo in the speakers, both variants are much. good enough headphones will give incredible 7.1 for movies and games. stereo speakers will works as stereo i pretty sure not worse than integrated sound. again. this is only my experience, you can check info in the internet in many forums, video, with certain instructions. first firmwares was a glitchy, after upgrade it couple a years ago even no sneeze ever. so probably all fresh models must have 0 troubles. i divide this experience, because it's too good for take the info between my ears under related post.
