i will use this as a collection of test bioses/tools/info targeted towards Raptorlake + z69/790
NOTE for Z690: You must update ME on your Z690 to properly support raptorlake (if you are on dual bioses then you need to do this to both bioses)
1) d/l and install ME driver
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/DRV_MEI_Intel_Cons_ADL_TP_W11_64_V2229320_20220809B....
2) update ME with ME Update Tool (I know there are newer versions but its not up on Asus official site yet so >= this version is fine)
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/MEUpdateTool_16.1.25.1885_T.zip
3) update to Latest BIOS of your choice
Note 2 for Z690: i have some Z690s that are already LOW in battery so you are advised to use a new Battery during this upgrade.

Hi. Can someone check with themselves? Disabling bluetooth in the bios settings affects the work
USB ports U10G_5 and U10G_6 on the rear panel. They stop working, electric voltage on them
is provided, but no devices are detected in these ports. MoBo Z790 FORMULA.

I have been testing the new beta bios 1602 for a week, and everything has been pretty stable until today, my system froze for a couple of seconds (I was only watching YouTube) and then completely shut down and turned on automatically (This time it took a few more seconds to boot). So I don't know if this could be related to the beta bios, a hardware issue (Maybe power supply), or the new Windows 11 update (KB5043145) which is having some issues like reboot loops in some systems.
I'm using the Intel Performance Profile and XMP enabled.
System Specs:
Motherboard: Z790-E Strix Gaming WIFI II
CPU: i9 14900K
RAM: 64GB (2x32GB) G.Skill DDR5 6400
GPU: MSI RTX 4080 Super Expert
Power Supply: Corsair 1000W HX1000i

If it happens again, disable XMP and retest. Or alternatively, run Karhu RAM Test or HCI Memtest Pro and check stability.

Apparently they are still working intensively on the BIOS...
Otherwise the BETA bios were always followed very quickly by the final versions.

Tbh I dont think they are working on any new stuff for current Z690/Z790. They are now busy with new Arrow Lake stuff and maybe just forgot to remove Beta badge from website or they just dont care anymore about this platform. I would not wait any miracle from Asus and Intel anymore. We need to use what we have now with this platform. As you saw, Asus even dont upgraded ME firmware for last half a year or so, and official drivers not updated for ages now for Z690/Z790 - only hope is on Mokichu about this. Intel made huge pile of ****** with all that degradation epic drama, board vendors are not any better. Cheers.

Arrow Lake or not, I hope that ASUS is professional enough to bring this to a conclusion.
It can't be that the probably last BIOS version for this platform remains in beta status forever.
Maybe one of the moderators could comment on this!
I'm currently still running version 2503, and I'd be interested to know whether a final version of 2602 is still to come.

Tbh I will stick with 2503, for me its good bios, same as was 2102 and 1303 previously. Especially knowing that new one (beta) is no option to turn off Enhanced C-State. I limited voltage manually in IA VR Voltage Limit to 1500mv and I trust this limiter much more then Intel default settings.
10-12-2024 04:52 AM
Probably a stupid question, but how do I set the value of the limit correctly?
1.5 or 1500
Regards

IA VR Limit in mV, 1.5v = 1500mv, add 1500 value

Thank you!
