i will use this as a collection of test bioses/tools/info targeted towards Raptorlake + z69/790

NOTE for Z690: You must update ME on your Z690 to properly support raptorlake (if you are on dual bioses then you need to do this to both bioses)

1) d/l and install ME driver
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/DRV_MEI_Intel_Cons_ADL_TP_W11_64_V2229320_20220809B....

2) update ME with ME Update Tool (I know there are newer versions but its not up on Asus official site yet so >= this version is fine)
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/MEUpdateTool_16.1.25.1885_T.zip

3) update to Latest BIOS of your choice

Note 2 for Z690: i have some Z690s that are already LOW in battery so you are advised to use a new Battery during this upgrade.

Hi.

I have a Z790-A Strix DDR4 still running  on BIOS 0904 and would like to update.

Are you happy with BIOS 1402?

yeah the 1402 was ok for  ddr4 4,300 cl 15 gear 1   this bios 1701 trains faster and tighter rtls  71/73 evry time vs bios 1402   71/73 but some times i had to disable fast boot  then reboot check rtls then enable fast boot  to gte 71/73 rtl  73/73 is some times gave me .

Apex Encore with 13900KS and 2x24GB GSkill 8000 Kit. I tested out BIOS 0070 and it looks to have greater memory stability than 0507. I'm currently running the kit mentioned above at 8400 MT/s 38-50-50-113 and its been stable thus far in all the games I've tested and preliminary Karhu ramtest runs. Thanks for the excellent BIOS!

PC Specs: 13900KS(P Core SP 123), Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Apex Encore, G.Skill 2x24GB 8000(8400 CL38), Corsair Airflow RAM cooler(2x60mm fans), Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 GPU, (2) Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSDs, Corsair AX1600i PSU, Thermaltake Toughliquid 420mm AIO w/ (6) Noctua 140mm Industrial 3000rpms fans, Corsair 1000D Super Tower Case.

Getting tons of errors with the 1701 on my z790 Hero and 13900k rig. Had some error 55 and error 64 issues on bootup too. Can't run my memory past 7000 without errors. When I was running the 1501 bios I was stable up to 7400. Don't know what has changed but this release looks like a step in the wrong direction for me.

Going to try to go back to 1501. That was MUCH more stable.

@andino @hoanglonglhp your guys tell me what memory use?

My previous build was z790 hero + 13900k + 1 kit of G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB 64GB 6400MHz DDR5 (32GBx2) White F5-6400J3239G32GX2-TZ5RS

I used to run 7200 or 7400 fine with it with a bit of tweaking of voltage but when I updated to the new bios, and the last ME Driver, I won't even boot.

Now I am using z790 Formula, 13900k and 1 kit CORSAIR Dominator Titanium RGB 48GB Memory Kit – White, 48GB (2x24GB) 7200MHz CL36 (CMP48GX5M2X7200C36W)

It will boot with XMP profile, but with optimized default settings and XMP on, it would just freeze the machine after some very light loads. I managed to find out the bios was setting the auto SA Voltage to 1.35V. I had to set it manually to 1.25V and the XMP worked. So every other voltage higher than 1.3V is going to freeze the system.

Another headache is, with the same setting, same setup in both setups, MCE OFF, LLC =4 , AC = 0.13, DC = 1.02, with the old bios before 14900k launched, no WHEA error. Now I had to set it to MCE OFF, LLC =4, AC = 0.21, DC = 1.15 for it not to have WHEA error.

So the temp was blazing hot 95 degree with a custom water loop. I tried replacing thermal pastes and other things but now I just have to give up with what I have.

1703 is working great on Apex.

I noticed my SA VID in XMP 1 is now 1.251v with 1703,.. it was always 1.329v with all frequency's over 8000 never changed with all test bios. My system is stable with the lower SA, everything is good. 😋

Default settings XMP 1 everything in Auto.Default settings XMP 1 everything in Auto.

Not that it will exactly help your issue, but you shouldn't be adjusting DC_LL that much. You don't adjust DC_LL to achieve stability that is what AC_LL is for. DC_LL should be adjusted so Vcore matches VID under load. Unless of course you're saying you had to adjust DC_LL that much with the new bios so they do match, if so then that is a different issue going on.
