i will use this as a collection of test bioses/tools/info targeted towards Raptorlake + z69/790

NOTE for Z690: You must update ME on your Z690 to properly support raptorlake (if you are on dual bioses then you need to do this to both bioses)

1) d/l and install ME driver

2) update ME with ME Update Tool (I know there are newer versions but its not up on Asus official site yet so >= this version is fine)

3) update to Latest BIOS of your choice

Note 2 for Z690: i have some Z690s that are already LOW in battery so you are advised to use a new Battery during this upgrade.

Re-downloaded and it works now. Had no crc error during unzip but who knows. Happy testing. Hope its better for DRAM than 2103.

Working through 803 atm.

One thing I've noticed - and not sure which version this changed - is the custom fan curves using the T-Sensor input are not working.

I'm running a custom loop with a T-Sensor reading my coolant temperature. All my rad fans are off Chassis Fan 1-3 headers. The bios is showing a reading on T-Sensor, so the input is there, but all the rad fans still scale up under CPU load.

Anyone having a similar issues, and can this be looked into please?

ah this is not good 😞 I'm also using the T_Sensor (on a Z790-F) to control most of the chassis fans. I'm still on the 0703 bios where it is still working just fine.

I just flashed latest test bios from rog forum for my Z790 maximus hero, reset bios to default settings and tried asus AI OC agian out of curiosity. What do you guys think about these values?









the last picture shows basically idle pc, core voltage being on 1.447v, temp 33 celsius,6.1ghz


(not sure why it shows maixmum watts at 350w in that one picture lol, thought there is some kind of limit)

core voltage is way too high as much as the wattage.
if you'll do something more demanding on the CPU it will be a throttle fest.

asus boards have no idea on how to correctly set a CPU even at stock frequency, leave alone when using the OC tools.

my extreme, with default settings, pushes 300W on my 13900K making it throttle at 100°C all the time, this is ridiculous.

I hope it only gets better with updates in the future, this is beta BIOS after all - not sure if it has any impact though since latest stable BIOS is same like this in regards of AI OC.

Can I make a suggestion here? Asus (and I would think) all mobo manufacturer's set LLC at Intel specs, which are very conservative. Your Load Line Calibration is probably what is making your V way to high causing Tjmax limits to kick in. Default Asus LLC3 for i9-12900k =1.1 D.C/.60 A.C. For i9-13900k= LLC3 1.1 DC/.50 AC. Now keep your LLC @ 3, DC @ 1.1 and if your processor can handle it, lower AC by .05 mv until CB_R23 crashes. Now raise it by .05-1 mv and you should see your temps decrease by at least 10C and you shouldn't be hitting Tjmax anymore but still be stable in your workload. For example with my 13900KF at default LLC3/DC 1.1/AC .50 with full custom water cooling I would still hit 90C. I was able to lower AC to .24 (after testing) with no performance penalty but with huge V decrease and thus temp decrease(-10C). Test on all AVX workloads or gaming or whatever you use. This is just a simple way to get your processor to still work at max without hitting temp limits due to excessive voltage. Not all cpu's are created = so test, test, test!
