i will use this as a collection of test bioses/tools/info targeted towards Raptorlake + z69/790

NOTE for Z690: You must update ME on your Z690 to properly support raptorlake (if you are on dual bioses then you need to do this to both bioses)

1) d/l and install ME driver
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/DRV_MEI_Intel_Cons_ADL_TP_W11_64_V2229320_20220809B....

2) update ME with ME Update Tool (I know there are newer versions but its not up on Asus official site yet so >= this version is fine)
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/MEUpdateTool_16.1.25.1885_T.zip

3) update to Latest BIOS of your choice

Note 2 for Z690: i have some Z690s that are already LOW in battery so you are advised to use a new Battery during this upgrade.

Mine is G.Skill Trident Z5 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MHz CL32 (32-38-38-96, 1.4v).
Currently, I'm able to stabilize the system only by disabling Efficient cores (all of them). Additionally - the same adaptive power to -0.09 (less than 0.12 causing some problems).

That's really odd.
I have been playing with AI Overclocking, that's worked out way better for me in the long run, I mainly game and have general use.

I turned on MCE, but with the 90c limit, can still hit a little over 40000 in Cinebench 23 without going over 89c.

Z790 Hero with 13900k + kit 6000 64gb (1 kit)

0031 - pretty stable, but with some games (like the latest NFS Unbound) pretty often shows bluescreen.
0803 - looks stable, but rise my temp to +20C over 0031 bios with the same settings (adaptive power -0.09v).

Currently, the ASUS Z790 Hero system is too unstable to use for games, only web browsing is not crashing...

P.S. Board is not working well, too; it always 403 or 500... need to re-send the message 4-5 times for success... I'm disappointed...

Hello,

That density is always going to be tough. Try increasing VCCSA and IMC voltages as well as both VDD and VDDQ.

Interesting. I'm on the z790 hero as well. With 2x32 for 64gigs total. I picked a gskill trident 6400 kit. Runs fine out of the box with XMP 1 and 2 settings. No issues passes mem test fine... I do a lot of heavy cg simulation work and its been stable their as well. I did pick a kit that's on the QVL list. Paired with a 13900k.. on most recent official bios. But it also ran fine with the bios from the factory. I also tried 3 different 6000 kits as I was trying to get 128 gigs of ram to post with xmp. I never did get that working sadly.

F5-6400j3239g32gx2-tz5rk was the kit I have been running with for the last month just about no issues.

yes.

I did this, got the new 13900k, and swapped out my 12900k which was running stable for the new 13900k, pre-updated bios and all, it ran, and it worked, but windows were unstable BSOD city, couldn't push through, had to reinstall windows 11. however, since reinstalling it's running great! just be prepared

Will there be a BIOS or firmware update to address the issue of misread VID tables (and thus miscalculated SP scores) because of users not upgrading their 600 series chipsets in the proper order? (update ME driver, flash ME, flash new BIOS, then install new chip)? As far as I can tell, most users aren't doing that, so we may all be running with incorrect VID tables in the BIOS. And the only way to reset it is to remove the CPU, keep clearing CMOS, hit power button with CPU out, put it back in, clear CMOS again, etc reinstall chip and all that. That's a huge hassle most users won't do.

Hi did anyone get the Z790 Extreme Board to work @ 7600(+)?

I am stuck at about 7400 stable.
It is Benchstable for 7600 maybe 7800.
XMP Profile for the 7600 GSkil Memory isn't stable also.

Feels like the old Extreme Z690 Problem (and the 2021 Apex Boards) had.

Any Ideas how to get it stable at least at XMP?

I'm in the same boat Z790 + 7600 = not stable xmp 1, xmp 2, or xmp tweaked. Currently running at XMP and 7200 mhz which is stable. Hopefully new bios fixes this 😞

Had the exact same problem with Gskill 7600 on Z790 Hero. Could not run XMPI or higher. Tried adjusting voltages, IMC, SA with no luck. But 7400 ran perfect. The solution? Buy TeamGroup 7200 and overclock to 7600 or buy Teamgroup 7600 and run at XMPI no problem. I have both sets and can verify they work great. Gskill ram can be very inconsistent.

This was with Bios 0703
*Results may be better with test bios' on this forum.

With the New Bios 0803 and the Z790 Hero & G Skill 7600 CL36 and XMP Tweaked is not stable. Had to lower SA Voltage to 1.15V to be stable.
