i will use this as a collection of test bioses/tools/info targeted towards Raptorlake + z69/790
NOTE for Z690: You must update ME on your Z690 to properly support raptorlake (if you are on dual bioses then you need to do this to both bioses)
1) d/l and install ME driver
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/DRV_MEI_Intel_Cons_ADL_TP_W11_64_V2229320_20220809B....
2) update ME with ME Update Tool (I know there are newer versions but its not up on Asus official site yet so >= this version is fine)
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/MEUpdateTool_16.1.25.1885_T.zip
3) update to Latest BIOS of your choice
Note 2 for Z690: i have some Z690s that are already LOW in battery so you are advised to use a new Battery during this upgrade.

i have 12th gen
i can not get a cpu for now. the info is on my images . BUT jejeje the 12th that i got was a golden one.
my cpu idle on 20c and load 60C and with oc no more than 70C is ok. one day i will get a cpu but i can not now.

Used the memtest from BIOS (that's okay right?) and got a pass on both XMP and XMP Tweaked. System is just sluggish even loading into Windows now, system remains pegged at 5700MHz. Updated the ME FW, installed latest ME drivers, just unusable really.
I reinstalled Windows about a week ago, so I guess I'll do that again tomorrow and see if anything changes. This platform is really the worst I've ever dealt with.

Tried disable CEP protection i bios?

Tried this, no good sadly.
However, I did reinstall Windows (looked like a new setup, so I guess it got updated in the last week or so), only installed the bare minimum drivers and I'm back to around 2150 in CB24. Can't tell if it was something else messing up, but whatever. This platform is the epitome of making people who just want a stable system insane.

The new BIOS 2602 breaks Windows 10 High Performance power profile.
In the past if you set High Performance the CPU Clocks when maxed out.
Now Pcore clocks constantly drop from 5+GHz to 0.8 GHz, if there is no or light load on them.
It is not how High Performance profile works. Such behavior would be fine for Balanced Power Profile and not High Performance power profile. I heard this might be caused by enforced C1E c-state.
This is BAD and can cause stuttering in some games.
Please revert that change or fix High Performance power profile.

I think you have something good there and yes there is some fluctuactions on the cores and some drop 800/799 but not all of them, maybe 1 or 3 max But not all of them . i am on 12th (12700K witch code does not apply (still on 35) but is notable. not much but notable. i have some stuttering lag on boot and close open games. I think is a good idea to take a look. @Shamino
I am tracking that also is weird. and on 12th that code does not apply I am on apex z670 3901

For me the problem is more severe. I have 13600KF. I tested it with setting High Performance profile and running a light indie game.
Even with light CPU load all Pcores frequency is throttled and cores are put to deep sleep state.
IMHO this should not happen for High Performance profile, for Balanced and Power Saving profiles that would be expected behavior.
@Silent_Scone, could we please give this feedback to Asus BIOS team?
Btw, MSI updated their BIOS with new microcode, but they didn't changed c-states.
I don't understand this change, it does not reduce Vcore voltage for Pcores in C1E state. So there is no benefits of throttling down CPU, just power state switching latency is added ,a problems for gamers.

good finding nice work. let hope asus see this so they can check. Now, i follow a few friend here, and ask. and look like is not on asus board also can be something related. also we did check this in last bios on z690 12th gen also. That can cause, when high performance is on use, that in fact no one has to use anyway, a lag on use on even normal idle on apps. Let see what they can find. does not manner what ligh or load or c1 E state is call, on hight performance power plan CORES SHOULD NOT drop. a variance of 5% is expected, but not that low. Since is a beta bios, is GOOD and IMPORTANT to report this asap.
Or is possible that the cpu is degraded also. i can expect 2 max 3 cores down bot not more than 60% of it on idle or use. let wait until adm and asus check this finding. and wait for their recommendations. That is way is called beta bios. we use it test it and report back

Windows Power Plan behaviour might not be as expected (or what you're used to) since latest ucode patch, but this will be down to Intel. C1E behaviour is controlled in RC code.

I will be honest with you guys - as I said a week ago already - those C1E Enhanced C-States are total crap and its completely a no go especially that CPU clocks drops even on Windows High Performance Power Plan - which is absolutely a no go for content creators/music producers who are searching for super low latency system... I think even gamers will not be happy with this C1E crap in new bios.. I spend fortune on 13900KS and all system and I want high performance and low latency from this system, and not some crappy medical plaster from Intel and ASUS.. Knowing that those hybrid-heterogenous Intel CPUs was kinda hard to tweak for low latency and was needed to disable Windows Core Parking to get rid from insane latency spikes in Latency Mon.. Not a rant, just my 5 cents 🙂
