i will use this as a collection of test bioses/tools/info targeted towards Raptorlake + z69/790

NOTE for Z690: You must update ME on your Z690 to properly support raptorlake (if you are on dual bioses then you need to do this to both bioses)

1) d/l and install ME driver
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/DRV_MEI_Intel_Cons_ADL_TP_W11_64_V2229320_20220809B....

2) update ME with ME Update Tool (I know there are newer versions but its not up on Asus official site yet so >= this version is fine)
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/03CHIPSET/MEUpdateTool_16.1.25.1885_T.zip

3) update to Latest BIOS of your choice

Note 2 for Z690: i have some Z690s that are already LOW in battery so you are advised to use a new Battery during this upgrade.

Nobody is going to side with you in here that you need to run Prime95, I would just accept that this isn't an argument you're going to win, and move on. It's a surefire way to degrade a CPU faster, that's all anyone needs to know. Unless, of course, you genuinely need to run Prime on a daily basis for any particular reason.

I've already opened my own thread on the topic, but since it's about a 13900k, the question is probably not wrong here.

Hello everyone,

My system runs Windows 11 with the “High Performance” power plan and the processor power management is set to 100 percent performance.
This means that the CPU has always had its maximum clock speed.
That's the intention.
However, after the last Windows 11 update (KB5041587), all cores are downclocked (P-Cores min. 2.9 GHz / E-Cores min. 2.2 GHz / Idle)
Otherwise, no changes were made to the system.
All drivers and BIOS are up to date.
The power plan is also exactly the same.

I can no longer determine exactly whether this problem existed before microcode 0x129, but since I have HWinfo running all the time, I am very sure that I did not observe this behavior before.

Has anyone noticed similar behavior?

It's also worth mentioning that I don't use any of the new Intel profiles, but rather individual settings.

PL2 – 253W
ICCMAX – 307 A
MCE – Disabled

Can anyone confirm if you are able to SAVE your BIOS configuration settings on the USB Disk using 1503 BIOS running on ROG Z790 DARK HERO board with i9-14900K CPU? My build details are in the signature if any additional information is needed.

I am able to save screenshots on the USB Drive as well as load any BIOS (CAP File) from the USB drive using the EZ BIOS tool. So the USB drive is working properly.

No issues on the Encore. Perhaps format a different pen drive and try again.

Hi Silent_Scone,

Thank you for confirming on your Z790 APEX Encore board this feature is working properly. I have tried every single USB slot and I am not seeing this message. The drive is FAT formatted. See below

achugh_0-1725197298450.png

What keyboard shortcuts did you press? I tried CTRL + F2 to save the current BIOS setting and it did not save any files. I tried F2 and that also did not save any files. Basically I am not getting these messages at all.

I think I may have found my issue looking at your screen. When I press the keys, I get a screen with an input box. I did not type anything into it because till this post I was thinking that is a progress message bar like when a new BIOS is loaded as it looked like exactly the same. I simply press OK button and nothing is saved. I believe this is because I never provide a filename and the export does not create a filename on its own if no filename is provided. I will try again and confirm back.

Yes. You have to name the file before it will be generated. I had just backed up my Encore board with no problem as well.

Thank you Hopper64 and Silent_Scone, I am able to export the BIOS configuration. It was a user error on my part. Providing a filename does the export as expected.
