i will use this as a collection of test bioses/tools/info targeted towards Raptorlake + z69/790

NOTE for Z690: You must update ME on your Z690 to properly support raptorlake (if you are on dual bioses then you need to do this to both bioses)

1) d/l and install ME driver

beta bios 1101 on  apex encore ddr5  48 gb @ 8400 c36 passed vst / tm5 with the same voltages needed as bios 0080 beta  , no bios past 0080 was stable i tried evryone  until this new 1101 beta  it passed  

strix wifi d4 with 14900 k and beta bios from yesterday passed 32gb ddr4 @ 4300 c15 gear 1 and 4400 c16 gear 1 in vst and tm5 with the same voltages needed as before 🙂 

finaly i can get off of bios 0080  so ya this has been a great bios

Hello, I just got my 14900ks installed on my z790 Maximus Hero and ONLY the iGPU works, I think it could be a bios problem because I put my 13900ks back in there, and my 4090 works. Is a bios update coming out for this MB to be compatible with this processor anytime soon? I would like to use my GPU lol. Is anyone else having this problem? i am on 2101 bois right now and it still won't see my GPU. it just shows this in my bios.4090 in the first slot4090 in the first slot

That BIOS has already added support for that SKU, could potentially be the CPU. Create a thread here and describe the issue.

1. Remove any riser cables if using them.

2. Remove any contact frames if using them.

3. Remount the 14900KS ensuring for consistent mounting pressure.

Any more information to this??? what will be optimized? kind of useless information... Changes on Voltage supplys or something similar?

Optimisation for performance, why else would something be optimised? Behaving like what? You're complaining about context and then not providing any lol. Direct Die is always going to be beneficial regardless if it's a KS or a K if you want to maximise performance.

I'm Sorry, my question was kinda rude, shouldn't sound like it turned out...

I was on work and didn´t had the time to write everything what was on my mind.

shouldn't have send it to be honest.

So lets start from new, on my previous 14900KF I needed 4 weeks to get 8000MT's stable due to the fact i had to stay under 1,27V VCSSA (SA bug they call it on Overclock.net) with the 14900KS I needed ~2,5hrs to find the point I can run 8000MT's stable and already started lowering the timing... (some benefits from experience, some from the much better behavior of the KS)

Yes the SP Prediction is some points worse then my KF before, but I'm sure the maybe higher RAM clock and/or the tighter timings will compensate.

No worries. I've not noticed any change in memory stability across all builds on the Encore using m-die, perhaps if you're stable at 8000MT and not willing to tune further, stay put.

Pretty sure this is because Intel has been up to their shenanigans again with changing the official boost clocks after release (they've done this many times before).  But this is even worse than before, because Intel didn't even acknowledge the 14900KS even existed until after NDA expired.

Apparently, all P core turbo is supposed to be 5.7g, TVB (turbo boost 3.0, +2) is 5.9g, Turbo boost below 70C is 5.8g and then you have the 6.2ghz 2 core turbo. (I know someone is going to roast me for saying that, so...go ahead, I'm probably wrong once again).

Intel already changed the all P core turbo on the 14900K from 5.7 (prerelease) to 5.6 ghz (official), that's why some people end up failing Cinebench R15 at pure stock (5.7 ghz) because CPU needs more vcore than the fused V/F is asking for, and end up RMA'ing their CPU's (which the shop has to accept as it's not running as advertised), and if R15 fails to loop at least 5 times consecutively, you're going to fail Unreal Engine shader compilation tests with "out of VRAM" errors and crashes.

(on my sample, R15 needs about 1.19v load to loop stable at 5.7/4.5/4.5, and full auto (6.0 two core boost active) gives 1.272v load at 5.7, and sync all cores locked to 5.7, with everything else auto gives 1.252v load, so I have 60mv of guardband room.  But some people have zero guardband and crash.  This one guy very recently on overclock.net, with a 14900KF needs 1.31v diesense load to pass R15, with manually set vcore, and full auto settings just crashes, so he's going to RMA his chip).

With everyone getting 100C at stock on a 14900KS (or failing R15) unless they won the silicon lottery, thanks to there being absolutely no information except leaks before release (Not even any intel press releases), work has to be done.

That's just my guess.

I had a KS and returned it to microcenter.  It failed manual 1.40v bios set + LLC6 at 5.8 ghz in R15, didn't even do ONE single loop without an instacrash--and that's on 5200 mhz (micron) RAM with auto subs, not even 8000 mhz (Gskill) tweaked (which is harder), which was worse than my 14900K.  Of course it was no worse than my K at 5.7 ghz (and better at 5.6 ghz, but now we're far UNDER stock...).
