Hello,

Computer just starts with bios, ssd can be clearly seen on bios, date and clock is correct. I just save&exit bios and continue windows without problems. While using computer no errors, everything works just fine. Hours of playing games, watching streams etc.

Hİ @MrAgapiGC ,

Well i'm kind of blind i guess. Yes it's very much visible.. My bad.

So i tried disabling VMD and it did not work. You said something about installation done incorrect, could you please elaborate? How do i solve this?

This is a brand new computer and cpu.

Thanks.

IF where me?

start from cero. secure erase the drive.  make sure load defaults.

VMD disable and then secure errase. is not the cpu issue so we are good there.  i will send a PM msg where to find me

Hi @gt426 ,

I doing a friendly check that you are all set and things have been resolved for you. In case you needed detailed installation instructions for a clean Windows 11 installation, you can refer to https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/gaming-motherboards/can-asus-support-fix-realtek-audio-drivers-with-bo... post where I did a detailed recording.

Hi there!

I currently have a Z790 Strix Gaming WIFI II, an i9 14900KF and 2x16 DDR5 7200CL34.

And I have exactly the same problem. Have you found a solution?

Hey!

Unfortunately i have not found anything. Trying to live with it..

Tried many things but no success.

I would like to ask one question, by any chance are you using raid?

Hi gt426,

Is there a reason you want to keep your RAID setup? You can try the normal setup and if the problem goes away then you can decide if you really want to live with it or not. You can disable VMD do a fresh Windows install without using any LOAD DRIVER option during the installation, delete all the partitions on your drive, select the UNALLOCATED SPACE drive since all partitions are deleted and let Windows create the partitions for you. This should get you back into a standard setup that hopefully will work better than what you have currently.

Hey achugh,

I think this is my last resort. I have no reason to keep raid. I'm working and coming back home really tired, so usually  do not have time for a clean windows installation. But definitely on my mind. Thanks for helping me!

edit: one more question, what did you mean with "i can try normal setup? you mean, clean windows installation?

thanks!

Hi @gt426 ,

Yeah, I totally get it. We all have busy lives. Take your time to work on your build. There is no rush. Most of us will be here whenever you get to working on it.

Normal setup means the following:

  • Disable VMD in BIOS.
  • When the Windows installation starts and you get to a point where you can load a Intel RST or any RAID driver, do not load any drivers.
  • Delete all the partitions on your OS Drive till you get to either UNKNOWN PARTITION or UNALLOCATED SPACE shown for the whole drive on which you will be installing OS.
  • Now select the drive and DO NOT click on create partition. Simply select the drive and continue. This is where Windows will automatically create the partitions for you and this will result in a standard non-raid setup which is what I called as normal setup.

I hope this helps you proceed forward in resolving your issue. Good luck!

Hi @achugh,
