Hi,
I have built a few computers (hobbyist) but I have never strayed away from the product's recommendations, into the world of playing with clocking or anything. I have been pretty vanilla. My current (ex) computer went puff about a week ago so I hurried up and bought a very cheap computer as a temporary so I can get by until I planned and buy all of the new parts of a dream system. Right now, I am looking at:
ASUS ROG Strix Z790-E Gaming WiFi II
i9-14900K
The i9-14900K is limited to DDR5 (DDR4 too) 5600 MT/s RAM. But.. what I am looking at, all of those 5600 MT/s RAMS have high CLs (CL 40 to be exact). I am not trying to get into over/underclocking world with this system too. Will you correct me if I wrong, from what I have read, I can use 6400 MT/s RAM (those that support XMP) and I still won't have to play with clocking? The RAM speed will just be limited by the i9-14900K? In order to get a lower CL RAM? I will deeply appreciate any help, so I can understand better. Also, I would deeply appreciate any suggestions.
Thank your in advance,
Bill
