The latest UEFI for my Z790 extreme motherboard (December update) restores the ability to disable enhanced C-States. The previous version of the UEFI didn't allow you to turn enhanced C-State off (it was forced on and greyed out). Now it will give you a warning regarding wear/damage, but you can turn off the enhanced C-States again. My question is about the fact that there are two settings for C-States. You can enable/disable the option for "c-states", and the second setting is for "enhanced c-states". These are not linked, so you can set one off and the other on. What does the motherboard do in that case? I don't like c-states so I disabled them, but when I went to disable "enhanced c-states" it gave me the warning which made me leave it on. What is my motherboard/cpu doing now with "c-states" disabled, but "enhanced c-states enabled"? The layout on this UEFI is so annoying. On top of being unclear, some options disappear (ex. if you disable PTT it hides the trusted computing menu). Everything should be clear, stop hiding menus, and no more forced settings (I'm happy this was reverted).

The (enhanced) just enables/disables C1e states, the other is normal C-states. For example, i just disabled C1e states and enabled maximum C2-states for my 12900K. I use IA VR Limit for voltage control, 1500-1520 to be exact in my case.
Of course, this is how i understand the options, someone correct me if i'm wrong.
