Hello,
I updated from 1666 beta to the new final release 1805 for my ROG B 760-F mainboard.
The newest release was downloaded from the official asus page (support -> mainboard -> bios & firmware).
I noticed following major problems:
- my psu makes an electric buzzing / coil whine sound - also when the PC is shutdown. Also S5 was set (doesn't matter if off or on). The noise ends, If I disconnect the cable and wait some mins. I switched back to 1663 -don't have a file of the beta bios- and the problem is gone. I didn't have any problems with my psu (bought june 2024) till now. My hardware: see signature.
-The bios flashback button, of the mainboard, didn't work with the newest bios 1805. It works again if I step back to 1663 bios.
Strange things going on... 🤔

Seems that Asus got still the 1666 beta on their server (if you've got the same issues and want to go back) ->
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/BIOS/ROG-STRIX-B760-F-GAMING-WIFI-ASUS-1666.zip?model=ROG%20ST... [if link don't work, go to an older or newer bios and changed the numbers to 1666]

Thanks @Chrissi84 for the update.
Expecting some official feedback on this issues.

lost a little bit of hope about that. If I understand you right, I'm a little bit mad about the situation. My system is too new to skip it (June 24) but to old to refound. End 2025, if lower/ mid end 9000ers with x3d are out, I'll switch to the red corner. A friend of mine got the aorus master (or kind of) with am5... feels solid... so I'll maybe I'll give 'em a try...

Well after it seems no one cares or hiding about possible solutions, I'll try it on my own. Till now I always use the bios flbk button on the back. Till 1666 it works fine. So after the probs with 1805 I'll go back to 1666 and tried it again. This time I'll updated over the bios with the integrated visual software tool. This time it seems to work (better). I'll keep an eye on it the next days...

P.S. Neo701: I didn't mean @ upper post (@no one csres)

Hi Chrissi84, do I understand correctly that updating your bios to version 1805 with the integrated visual software tool solved the buzzing/coil whine problem you had when the update to 1805 was instead done using the flbk button? Or are you still on the 1666 beta version?
I've got my own board to update (currently sitting at version 1663) and was waiting for a non-beta bios, but if 1805 is bound to give trouble with the psu I'll resign to update to the 1666 beta.

Hey @Berserker79 : That's correct. First try I'll go from 1666 beta to 1805 by using the Bios FLBK Button on back on the mainboard. That works until now fine. This time I've got problems with psu noise and the button ain't work anymore. So I'll go back to 1666 beta (be sure to safe before the beta bios install file - link upper). After that I gave it a 2nd try to updated over the bios EZ Flash 3. Now it works (better). But let me mention three things: 1.) I switched late back to pc.. I was unsure about the problems and bought the old i5-12500 (no coil whine over gpu, mainboard). After the fixes came out - I switched in Sep 2024, for a cheap price, to the i5-13500. I noticed, that the GPU now has coil whine and behind the cpu/ram socket I can hear it too. But only around 20 cm with ears from the pc case. 2.) I noticed that my board ain't like Kingston ram - doesn't matter if beast or fury - it makes (also with the 12500) a little bit of coil whine behind the ram. GSkill, Corsair = no problem. 3.) A friend of mine also noticed, that the has some buzzing noise from the psu. But already at 1666 beta (same board). And he has a different setup (14400f) with a lower watt -> FSP Hydro Ti Pro 850 Watt PSU (not 1000 Watt version like me). He found out, that the problem is fixed with using the "ECO" mode (on) - now it*s like a hybrid mode like seasonic or corsair - the fans kick in when it reached some XY degrees. Meanwhile I ask different guys on the web - not much people use this psu. They didn't noticed any problems on AM5 plantforms and kind of. Maybe it's an Intel (chipet/ cpu) problem or an ASUS Rog problem. The mentioned friend got his psu longer than me (I bought it in aug/sep 2024). One last thing: I noticed for stability in CS2 (jitter, frame drop) it is better when I turn at nividia control center -> "Manage 3D settings" from the left column -> click on the Power management mode drop down box and select "Prefer Maximum Performance". Good Luck bro!

Thanks for your reply and the additional info/suggestions: I'll keep all that in mind! So far on my setup it seems I don't have any coil whine issues fortunately (psu is an Asus rog strix 850G from an older build and I'm using Corsair ram): fingers crossed things will stay that way once I update to the 1850 bios, but I have saved a copy of the 1666 beta from the above link, just in case. Thanks!

@Berserker79 you're welcome. Let me know, how the update works on your system. Btw, what's your currently cpu?
Ah yeah... also let me know about your cpu temps. I noticed on 1663 am I right (version before 1666) around 59*C max on stress. On 1666 seems about 2-3*C more and currently I am around 65-67*C max (24* room temp). Also 5x chromax fans, 3 tripple nzxt fans and bigger nzxt tower. The u12s (dual fan) is only 2-3 month old.. so I dont think, the pre-apply thermalpast got old.
