I have not counted the REINSTALLATIONS from 0 with formatting from BIOS of C:/... and the thing still does not TURN OFF THE POLYMOLIGHTING when I turn off the PC, having deactivated from the application that I do not want it to remain on, even having from the BIOS that ARMOURy CREATE turns off all the LEDs and RGB and ARGB, my ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO motherboard

I don't press F5 because it's not necessary, IT'S THE USELESS APPLICATION with v5.9.9.0 that has created that problem in my case, that other users haven't noticed that, is not my problem, but it does have a bad effect on me as a user of ASUS products.

I'm putting on the networks the uselessness of the assistance and problems that ARMOURY CREATE always creates with each update.

I don't know how to say it ACTIVELY or PASSIVELY, I've tried everything you've explained, and nothing at all, the useless application continues without executing the configuration that I select, and it keeps scratching itself.

Hi @Miguel_V I am sorry to hear about your troubles. I am an end user just like you of the products ASUS makes. When I built my system back in March 2024 of this year, I gave Armoury Crate my best try. At that time it was at version 5.9.4 and just like you it did not go well for me. I have done a full Windows clean install to remove every trace of it since uninstalling it also did not remove everything it touched and caused issues for me; so I totally understand your pain and get what you are saying and facing.

I am not a fan of RGB lighting so my reason to install Armory Crate was to stop all the lights on the board and go dark. Once I started to run into issues, I started to look for alternatives and I found the following solution for me.

I found that under ADVANCED > APM Configuration if I ENABLE ErP Ready to S4 + S5 state as you can see below, this will stop the motherboard lights AS LONG AS I also DISABLE the USB Power Delivery in Soft State (S5). This combination helped me because until I DISABLED this USB Power Delivery option, my keyboard would stay lit up as it is hard wired to the PC via USB slot (basically I am not using a wireless keyboard like lot of other people so it would continue to get power even when PC is shutdown).

ErP ReadyErP ReadyStealth Mode for LightingStealth Mode for Lighting

While the above TWO settings solved my problem with SHUTDOWN, it still did not turn off the lights when the PC is in USE (not your case as I believe you do like the Polymo Lighting and other lights to stay ON and work for you so you won't need this information; I think). This is where I set my When system is in working state to Stealth Mode (see above) which finally enabled the proper DARK MODE for me where everything on the mother board turned off which is what I was trying to do with Armoury Crate in the first place.

Now, I also have ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 4090 OC GFX card and it also has lights which defaults to Rainbow effect. The only way to turn off these lights is via Armory Crate/ Aura Sync. ASUS Support Team here confirmed the same for me. So at this time, I have accepted this limitation instead of struggling to keep Armory Crate working. I do not need Armory Crate for driver updates as I like to control my drivers myself anyways. My ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO board does not come with Standalone Sonic Studio for EQ control or Surround Virtualization. I have also accepted that I have to lose this software feature because of the issues with Armory Crate since it is only available as part of the Armory Crate.

I cannot read Spanish but I believe you can read and write English properly so hopefully these screenshots and this post may help a little bit to solve your issue. I get it that sometime it is difficult to convey the message across different cultures so hopefully you will take it in a positive spirit from another fellow community member trying to help you and other searching for this information. Good luck!

but I just don't understand why there is no option to disable updates? because if the software doesn't work well, don't update it! you can turn off updates on the icue software, a company like Asus cannot build such an option into its software. especially when one out of 10 updates can be brought together normally. Gigabyte's software is slowly becoming more stable than Asus's, even though it was really brutal.

Thank you first of all for taking the time to try what you have explained, to try to make it work for me
They say that a picture is always better than a thousand words to describe something. WATCH THE VIDEO I PUBLISHED TODAY on Youtu.be on my channel.
Everything you have explained, I have already tried a thousand times, actively and passively, since they published this USELESS application with version 5.9.9.0, which every time they update something it is only to ruin it and not solve anything.
USERS ARE NOT THE ONES WHO HAVE TO TAKE THE CHESTNUTS OUT OF THE DEVELOPER of this useless application.
I use the GOOGLE TRANSLATOR, since I only write with the "Ñ" of SPAIN.

Version 5.9.9.0 of the Armoury Crate is totally broken. It is inexplicable that Asus has taken it out like this and even more inexplicable that they have not yet been able to correct the problems.

In my case I don't see the motherboard or the led strips in Aura Sync, only memory appear. I can't update device and components, error code 4151.

Your personal gripes with the software aside, I can confirm that setting ERP Ready to S4+S5 in conjunction with Stealth Mode has the desired outcome. Once back in the OS, I'm able to set a static Aura. For me this seems to be working as expected on The Z790 Apex Encore (UEFI 1602).

I have the same problem after the update. Before everything would turn off just by disabling the option from Armoury Create, now it only works on the first shutdown, after reboot the option is set to ON. The S3+S5 BIOS setting is just a gimmick, so I'm wondering what other BIOS settings are for how the lights should behave based on the on/off state of the PC. I'm not so sure about uninstalling Armoury Create because it will surely leave some junk around, so I regret leaving it installed after installing Windows.

Hi @Miguel_V thank you for sharing this video and thank you @LFl for adding additional details.

From what I understood the video and the message from LFI, the latest version of Armory Crate does not properly save the settings so when it starts up after a reboot, it turns the lights ON hence the BIOS change is not working as it gets overridden when Armory Crate starts up.

I agree this is a Armory Crate issue and cannot be solved by any combination of BIOS changes since they will not stay. To confirm Armory Crate is making changes on startup either one of you can run the following test to confirm and help others.

  1. Start AC and set the lighting effects configuration they way you like now close AC.
  2. Next TYPE msconfig in the Windows 11 search bar and select System Cofiguration application. From the GENERAL tab, choose Diagnostic startup radio button and click OK to close this application. When this application closes it will ask to reboot, choose YES to reboot.
  3. Upon reboot AC will not start since this boot session is in a limited service mode for debugging. Once the system has fully booted, SHUTDOWN your system normally using the start button.
  4. At this point does the Polymo Lighting turn off or your lighting settings stay the way you set them up? If yes, then it is a confirmed test that AC on startup is not able to load the previous configuration and is somehow loading the application defaults which will naturally reset things to default.

I believe Slient_Scone should then be able to help take this defect to the ASUS AC team to get you the fix for this issue. The AC development team will more than likely require logs which you all can provide.

NOTE: To put your system back into normal state, run the System Configuration again and select Normal Startup radio button and then click OK to close the application followed by a reboot will set things back to the way they were before running this test.

First of all, thank you for your extensive response.
I DO NOT PLAN to touch the BIOS anymore because I have settings that were made 2 MONTHS ago when I assembled the new PC, with the settings for BOOT SECURITY etc... so I will not press F5.
What I do say is that with the PREVIOUS VERSION of Armoury Create, I had no problems of any kind, but with the CRAP of 5.9.9.0 everything has been ruined, so from the day after that update I started to PUBLISH so that SOME DEVELOPER could give me a solution. The MODERATOR only MODERATES, but does not DEVELOP APPLICATIONS.

I have tried the steps described in point 4, if it works as it should, "If it turns off", and tried turning off the PC three times, working.
When I went back to apply in MSCONFIG and set it to "NORMAL START", restarted it accordingly and turned off the PC from START, the POLIMO LIGHTING SHUTDOWN SETTING no longer worked.
