Hello folks
I have the TUF Gaming Z690 Plus Wifi D4, currently with a 1080ti.
I may well be updating to a 40 series soon, probably a 4070ti, but I've been reading about some fairly severe compatibility problems between the 40 series and Asus z690 boards.
Anyone had any experience of this? Is it an issue that can/has been solved?
Thanks

Not sure what issues you have been hearing but I have been running my 4090 on my Strix Z690 Gaming A for almost 1 year now with 0 issues.

It's heartening to hear this Adrian1983 - thank you!
I'd read quite a bit about various asus z690 boards and various 40 series cards. Issues to do with failing to boot, not performing beyond Gen 3 settings, general instability etc.
But now when I search I can barely find anything on the topic!
Maybe everything I saw was in fact a hallucination generated by my subconscious to dissuade me from buying an overpriced GPU! 🙂

I can't speak for others who might be having legitimate issues, but I have had no compatibility issues at all, matter of fact, this has been the best, most trouble-free, running system I have ever owned.
I'm not saying that some series boards may have issues though, but my Z690 doesn't have any of them.
Best of luck!

From memory there was some sort of issue regarding black screens during boot on some boards or combination of bios but cannot remember which had this issue, I never did with Z690 and had this board since release day and also the 4090 since release day but there was never an issue here.
However Nvidia did release a GPU bios update for the 40x series for people affected by this issue, But should not be flashed if everything is working as normal.
