Hello, I cannot find a Z790 Apex mainboard in the lineup.
Is it not planned for this generation?

SAHWEET! 😛

Notice the very cool black text labels printed on the board.

Light gray PCB with black text, woohoo - I LOVE IT! 😮

yeah, having a second look on the detail you might be right
we'll see if it will be so... I should have ordered the silver DDR5 ones then =))
black w/o any RGB will do 😄
saw that some stores in Europe are stating that the board will be shipped starting Nov 1st if it is preordered now
honestly, I hesitate buying Apex again (I had ALL of them so far), sometimes even 2-3 each generation... everything was rock solid until Z490...
and yeah, I had ROG boards since Z87 - had Impact VI, Impact VII, Formula VII, Extreme VIII, Code IX etc.
got used to the Bios I guess... but noticed that quality of the boards decreased over time...

hopefully now there will be only one and GOOD part number for Z790 =))
not like Z690 😛
https://www.igorslab.de/en/1-motherboard-2-faces-asus-rog-maximus-z690-apex-review-with-teardown-ram...

regarding the SA voltages... all the time were pretty much high on default state after the XMP is enabled, for DDR4 I noticed that this scaled with the frequency for DDR4...

in general (at least until Z590), even with these high values, stability tests passed, including GSAT

with Z490 everything was smooth and solid until that Rocket Lake thing occurred
Bioses which started to include Rocket Lake were, at least in the transition period quite a mess
then I decided to try the later ones, it's quite mandatory to not leave SA voltage default (1.50V high), otherwise GSAT will fail under 10 mins

Maybe I'll drop back to the natural aluminum frame for the EK Quantum Magnitude block, to blend with the Z790 Apex heatsinks and swap out the black frame.

This is going to be a very interesting ride! 😛

Getting super-excited about the new Z790 Apex aesthetic, hoping it's not limited to Asia and we can buy it here in the states. 🙂

It's gonna turn my build aesthetic upside-down! OR it will blend just fine - gunmetal, white, and black...

What an outrageous move ROG, the new Apex PCB is gonna blend with my dim white lighting, and my cables, and my fittings. lol 🙂

energie80 posted my zoomed Z790 Apex board image over at OCN for those brilliant overclockers - thanks energie80. 🙂

Cannot wait to read their reaction to the new Apex aesthetic. 😛

10years building with ROG boards, and this is the BEST looking motherboard ever!

see post #4, some have it from good months already... that's a promo picture, heavily edited, the board is definitely not white or gray 🙂
not so much changed, hopefully everything has been sorted out, basically it's an Apex Z690 2022 edition, don't mind if it's a hotfix which actually works :))
yeah as you say, hopefully the Z690 story won't happen again, that was indeed nasty, ppl who were unable to RMA the first batch boards (Asus policies) they were forced to sell it really, really cheap

The image you keep posting is Nizzen's Z690 Apex board that he owns, he only posted that Z690 image "as a placeholder" for post #1 when beginning the OCN Z790 ROG motherboard thread because at that time - he had NO IMAGE of the Z790 Apex. He plans to replace the Z690 image with a Z790 as soon as one becomes available.

The guys at OCN do not have the Z790 Apex yet and have not had the board for months like you claim.
