No HDMI signal from motherboard

I have a ASUS B760-I ROG Strix Gaming WiFi with a Intel Core i5-14600K connected to a ASUS VG27AQL1A 27" 2K QHD. No graphics card. I'm not getting a display on the ASUS monitor when using the HDMI connector on the motherboard. However, I get a display signal on the ASUS monitor when using DisplayPort on the motherboard. Also, when connecting the HDMI to a different  monitor, a BenQ BL2710, I get a display signal.

Any thoughts on why I can't get a display signal on the ASUS monitor when using the HDMI on the motherboard?

Check if the Asus monitor input is set to HDMI in monitor menu. Monitors don't always auto-detect and auto-switch.

The input is set to HDMI and still no signal.

Have you used that HDMI cable before? I'm assuming it's the same HDMI cable that works with the other monitor? Otherwise, can you get the Asus monitor to display an HDMI signal from another machine? I guess it's either a monitor setting or a fault.
