When you select the intel option, a separate window will appear underneath that gives you two additional options.

I do not have the additional options other then selecting  intel profile, is it possible its only for the 13900 and 14900

Which cpu? Can you post a screenshot of HWINFO as shown above in my post after running CR20 after clearing the CMOS?

13700k, using the intel profile the limits are in place for 253 watt but i can assure you that some other setting is causing the CPU to use an extreme amount of power and overheat for the same work load vs the Asus profile

I messed around with the intel profiile again and reloaded its default settings , its not overheating like it was but still runs 10c hotter then the asus profile on the same work load

Then please tell us the setting that is supposed to cause this and that you mean.

Simply talking about a "certain" setting without specifying it is not helpful either.

The PL1 and PL2 information is already set in earlier BIOS/UEFI updates by the setting "Asus MultiCore Enhancement" -> "Disabled Enforce all Limits". At least on my motherboard.  So not just since the introduction of the "Intel Profile".

In my test, the CPU, despite Intel standards, drew more power and got hotter when "IA TDC Current Limit" -> "Motherboard's Capability" was set.

If I switched to "Intel's Default" here, it no longer got hot in CB R23.

See also my post where I describe the corresponding settings.

Intel Core i7 13700K / AiO Fractal Design Lumen S36 v2 RGB / Asus Rog Strix Z790-F Gaming WIFI / Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5-5600 64GB (4x 16GB) / Asus TUF RTX 4070 ti OC / 4x Samsung 980 pro 1TB / Seasonic Prime GX 850 W Gold / Fractal Design Meshify 2 Lite RGB Black TG Light Tint / Monitor AOC Q27G2S/EU (WQHD)

I don't  know what setting is doing this , the intel profile changes a bunch of things (save and exit) vs the asus profile, i haven't gone through each one, my whole point of the post was the point out a general issue i don't have the solution

It just seemed logical to me that my cpu should not be hotter using the  intel profile (same work load) as there is stricter guidelines, then asus overclocked profile.

If i use intel defaults  in IA TDC current limit,  it does not get hot whatso ever but the cinebnech score is really really bad and doesn't pull more then 125w

Unfortunately, assurances don't account for much when replicating behaviour 😅. Hence, I asked if you could test with CR20 to compare the presets. You shouldn't need to "mess around" with the Intel preset, it's predefined as the name suggests. Sounds like you may have been either using an older CMO file or perhaps were adjusting other parameters manaully.

I noticed the same thing

Adjust VRM LLC to 3 and retest.

Everything works fine. I have no problem with this update 🙂
